Replying To Bon:  "Is he not already on the Limerick panel?"
He got a look in earlier this year but I assumed many outside Limerick wouldn't have noticed and seemed to have stepped up another notch for the club this year

Na Piarsaigh just won the Limerick hurling championship by an amazing 26 points

He was very impressive for patrickswell in the couple of games I saw. Well able to hit frees too.

Lads Jason gillane is with the panel since start of the year..he is the 3rd choice keeper but will definitely be pushing for a starting place in forwards in next 12 to 18 months..county final was a complete write off,na piarsaigh were so far ahead it was scary..they won without downes, dowling and houlihan..I think it's a shame no all ireland club because the best clubs are still involved na piar, the bridge, ballygunner, ballyhale,st Tomas's,sunlit.i didn't mention tipp or cork winners, had makings of brilliant c/ship..

Na Piarsaigh's display reminded me of what Kilkenny did to Waterford in the A.I. final some years back.
They could'nt put a foot wrong if they tried.

What's the most competitive club championship at the moment? Football and Hurling.

Just looking at the recent history of the Tyrone SFC, in the last 10 years, there have been 8 different winners. (Dromore, Errigal Ciaran, Clonoe, Omagh, Trillick, Killyclogher, Coalisland and Dungannon). Hard to believe Carrickmore didn't win one of them, losing 2 finals.

In contrast , there have been 5 different winners in the same period in my own county (Glenswilly, St Eunans, Naomh Conaill, Kilcar and Gweedore). St Michaels really should have won at least one.

Clare would be regarded as the most open hurling I think, in football would have to be Tyrone, its like they've a draft like the American Football

Competitive doesn't always translate to the best. Whilst there hasn't been as many winners as say Tyrone or Donegal to me the Derry, Galway and Dublin football championships have been the most competitive and quality club championships over the last decade or so.

In some cases their winners report harder games in their county championship than their provincial and those three championships have produced All Ireland winners/finalists.

For the competitive nature of the Tyrone senior championship their winners rarely make any impact on the provincial/All Ireland series something neighbours like Armagh, Down, Derry have done.

It sounds like a number of teams are around the same level and maybe due to the size of the county quality is spread out more but if they went into other championships those teams might struggle to make an impact which is evidenced by their lack of an impact at Provinvial and certainly All Ireland level compared to neighbouring and further afield county senior champions.

Very entertaining game of football tonight in Cavan. Credit to both teams. Looking forward to the replay now.

It was a good match, Crosserlough looked to certain winners when leading 1-5 to 0-1, in the first half, but Kingscourt had it down to to 3 at half time. Crosserlough went 6 ahead with their second goal after the break, but Kingscourt were persistent, and led by 2 as the games neared the end. Crosserlough seemed gone, but they added 2 points, one in added time, to draw. They may be favourites for the replay..
Cavan games are replayed if they end level, whereas in Tyrone, and other counties, penalties are used to decide to get a winner.
Why no standard rule?

I think only the final in Cavan is replayed. One of semis and 2 of the quarters went to extra time. I think they would have gone to penalties if it was still level after extra-time but they made an exception for the final. Good game last night. Kingscourt never panic. I think they were eight down at one stage in the quarter-final v Mullahoran and came back to win. They really should have won it last night if they stopped crosserlough from coming up the field with that last attack and time up. I think they thought ref was going to blow it up after that last free but he let it carry on.

This game had everything , high fielding, direct running, brilliant free taking. Brilliant decision by RTE to show the game. Hopefully they now show the replay.

Massive upset in the Galway SFC semi-final: Mountbellew-Moylough beat Corofin 2-13 to 0-12! They were 6 to 1 outsiders but were by far the better team on the day.

I can see a few Ballymun players stepping away from Dublin earlier than expected! After watching their performance today you'd wonder how many club All Irelands they'd have won the last decade but for the committment and success of Dublin. If all their players had more concentration on Ballymun they'd likely of stopped some of Corofin's success; fantastic team. Maybe as a club they'll reflect and want to try and win a few All Irelands from 2021 onwards after the huge success their stars have already had with Dublin.

They were brilliant today, but steady on with the talk of 'how many club All-Irelands they'd have won'. None is the most likely answer. Plenty other Dublin clubs had a decent amount of players on the panel and managed to win county titles. Ballymun got to one All-Ireland and were beaten by Brigid's. It's a pity for them that they won't get a shot at it this year as they look to be at their peak.

Brilliant performance by Ballymun Kickhams, really unlucky for them that there is no All Ireland this year. Boden have been mighty champions, that's some upset.

Massive achievement for a club with 300 members.

Goes to show the impact County has on Club.

True about other Dublin clubs but as another poster stated Ballymun would be one of the smaller Dublin clubs and without doubt more than any other club they have backboned the success of Dublin this decade.

It's obviously been a challenge for Ballymun to provide the inter county players and get everybody right in time for a Dublin championship. This year they had full committment, no distractions and the evidence is there for all to see. A fantastic team; I'd like to see them give the club a full 3 or 4 year committment; I'd almost guarantee they'd win more than one All Ireland if they did so.

It's a pity for them there isn't an All Ireland this year because no club in Ireland would stop that team from now until next March if there was the traditional club championships.
