Things That Seemed Ridiculous At Start Of Decade That Actually Happened

Replying To Tacaí Liatroma:  "Are there people on here whinging about the 5 in a row? Christ. I predicted that if it happened, the good Kerry football people would stop at nothing to rewrite history and do a 6 in a row, and that will be a life's goal for players and managers alike. If they see themselves as some sort of kings of football, let them regain the record ASAP and put these jackeen upstarts in their place. The cheek of them to steal Kerry's 5 in a row."
Exactly...! You would think so.

But can you imagine the absolute pressure cooker that is kerry GAA this year..!
Unbelievable pressure on them after them doing so well last year and now with Jim Gavin gone also

The 5 is completely eating them up so the expectations on them this year will be immense.

There won't be half this pressure or expectation on anyone else - including the Dub5.
And if kerry folk say there is no added pressure on them this year, then they are not being honest.
It will be absolutely stressful for them in 2020.

Replying To RoyalBadger:  "OK stole this idea from other sport forums but worth a shot for GAA.

Startled earwigs Dublin would win 7/10 available All Irelands including a 5 in a row.

Kilkenny would not be the team to do 5 in a row first.

Kerry would win only one All Ireland.

Clare would come out of nowhere and win hurling All Ireland. In same year Dublin would win Leinster.

No hopers Donegal would win an All Ireland and establish themselves as top 4/5 team.

London would reach a provincial final.

Hurling provincials would abandon knock out format for round robin as a reaction to football QFs becoming round robin

Mayo would lose yet another 4 finals without winning one.

Offaly would end up in hurlings 3rd tier.

Sky Sports would show live matches.

Tipperary would reach a football semi.

Any more?"
Cork (allire champs in 10) would end decade playing in division 3.

But sure the money way is the dublin way."
Winning 5 in a row is the Dublin way too

So true. And add in the whole sj saga , who would have thought that debacle would occur

It's also our way as we've won two 5 in a rows this decade.

How many did limerick win in a row this decade?

You might want to have a word with your pal Hermit so as he seems to think 5 in a rows signals a crisis!!! Go figure!!

Replying To TheHermit:  "Honestly though for me it is that inter county footballs entire credibility and tradition would be undermined just to flog jersies in the country's biggest market.
You can call me bitter all ye want but riddle me this, if any professional sport saw the same team win 5 years in a row people would be crying out it's in crisis!
And yet in an amateur sport this is happening facilitated by an outrageous financial advantage, home games etc etc and judging by most people on this forum they couldn't care less which scares me to be honest. Dublin represent the end of everything the GAA was meant to stand for..."
Do have links to the threads you posted on this pre 2011? Thanks in advance.

We won't change, we'll still be sending out great teams, great players to compete and win, and win the right way - long after your county is split in twain or more.
And in a brief moment of contemplation (if someone of your base level of intellect is capable of such a feat) you might wonder whether a few titles won the way you were allowed win them really was worth destroying Dublin as a single county identity.
Because with the way all factors are going, the split of Dublin is inevitable...
I don't want to see that happen but what choice will the GAA have unless they think the GAA community at large will stomach 9 or 10 in a row.

You really need to take a deep breath...!

So little poor Kerry have won 2x 5 in a rows in the last decade along with a Senior All Ireland and how many Provincial titles - yet through all this really unbelievable success you still have so many whinges and moans about the Dub5...!
Obsessed my friend ...

Enjoy the pressure cooker down there in 2020 because it will bring unbearable expectations and strains on kerry . ;o)

What a moan and whinge...!

Do you really thing the Dub5 will win 9 or 10 All Ireland's in a row eh...!?!

You must be the only person in the country who thinks so. Oh wait, could it be more of your yera yera talk yet again. ?
I think so.

You fool nobody.
Enjoy the increasing expectations of kerry winning this year and the pressure that it will bring, no matter how many time you try to deflect it.

The split isn't inevitable, if Kerry won that many would Kerry split? Stop being bitter because Kerry aren't winning All Ireland's

Kerry still has the most football AIs won overall so why are we not splitting Kerry. Why were they not split after 4 in a row

East Stirling called, they want to bring the "great" Kerry team this year out at half time in their next game to celebrate all their success this year.

Never change Kerry, never change. ;)
