Should 45S & 65S Be Lengthened ?

It's not always a block . Quite often it's a ricochet. Defending in numbers as we have all seen has become increasingly common and at one stage was undermining the game. Attacking play has returned . The game is now evolving positively again . Reward good attacking play and leave the rules alone.

I think there's certainly an argument in hurling that a 65 is too much of a reward for, what often is, great defending. I'd like to see the stats on how many 65s are scored. I'd imagine in senior inter County its over 90% scored. You make each side strike from the "other" 65 or do something completely different. Like a ground strike from the 45 or something.

I think there's less of an argument in football to be honest.

Or a sideline cut from the point where the ball left the field. But I imagine that could get messy

65 should be made more difficult it is a tap over with today's ball. They are scoring from 100m today. This yellow ball may go even farther who knows.

Could be messy indeed as the ball will have left the field by the end line. I can't see too many players scoring a cut from the end line (; ;)

Which would mean it would most likely lead to a short pass which would lead to a huge fight for position and most likely a few large shamozzles

A 45 "cut" would be a great idea.
It would be a greater test of skill than the current 65 and would also be consistent between hurling and football with both requiring the ball to be struck from the ground on the 45 opposite the point where the ball crossed the end line.
