In the Park on Saturday, we had 30 young Syrian girls and boys visiting our club. These young people go to the Corpus Christi School in Belfast, and they are wanting to sample as much Irish Culture as possible. What better way than to have a training session with Gerard McGrattan. They headed to Exploris before it and then onto the Park. All the kids had a brilliant time and loved visiting our Park. Big thanks to Sean Fitzsimmons, Bernie Lennon and Frank Maskey for sorting this out and to all those who will help in any capacity. Photos are on the Club Facebook.

Volunteers required - Portaferry's 'The Market on the Square' will launch on Saturday 7 July 2018 and will run until December. Volunteers are needed to help with the many support tasks that contribute to the success of the market e.g. putting up and taking down gazebos, preparing/clearing the market area etc. The opening times for the public are from 10am to 1.30pm. However, access to the market area for traders is from 8.30am. Ideally, volunteers would need to be available from 8am to assist in putting up gazebos and then from 1.15pm to assist with clear up and taking down gazebos. Volunteers are required for the following dates: Saturday 7 July 2018, Saturday 4 August 2018, Saturday 1 September 2018, Saturday 6 October 2018, Saturday 3 November 2018, Saturday 1 December 2018. Anyone willing to help out, message this page or speak to a Committee member.

National Feile 2018 - After beating Ballygalget in the County Down Feile Final, our lads were delighted to receive the news that they would be heading to Ballinasloe, Galway for the National Feile. It brings back a lot of great memories for many within our club. 26 years ago we were also based in Ballinasloe for the National Feile, going on to win the Division 3 National title. These memories last forever and we know this will be the case for the 2018 squad as well. Fundraising events have all taken place, including Cake Sales, Sponsor the Player, Sponsored Walk, Fathers and Sons match. Many local businesses and friends have made very generous donations. These traditional events have carried on since 1993. All the players are excited and cant wait until Friday. We look forward to visiting Ballinasloe again, having a great weekend, making memories and friends for life. Good luck to all our players and coaches, have the best time ever, go there and show your talents and we will be proud no matter the results.
