The Longstone 7s team which won the Ambrose Rogers Memorial tournament
*The club seniors played amalgamated side ASK Lecale in the senior championship on Saturday in Newcastle and achieved the win to set up a quarter-final tie against Burren this Sunday in Pairc Esler at 7.30pm.

*Longstone hosted An Riocht in the Premier Reserve championship on Sunday. The home team started well and led 3-1, before the visitors gradually pulled away to lead 0-9 to 0-3 at half-time. During the second half the Longstone players maintained a good effort, but several Kingdom points in the last ten minutes made it 0-18 to 0-7 for An Riocht at full-time. Overall Longstone gave a good account of themselves against strong opposition. Desmond Magee, Glen Burden, Declan Haughian and the veteran John Trainor, who made his debut as goalkeeper, led by example for Longstone and scores came from Kieran Rogers & Danny Trimble 0-2 each, Jamie McCartan, Brendan Trainor & Malachy Trainor 0-1 each.

*The junior camogs were home to Ballyglaget in the championship on Sunday evening, but the visitors were too strong and played well to win 5-8 to 1-3. Most prominent for Longstone were Caoimhe Poland, Erin McDowell, Lauren Cunningham, Clare Rooney and Cathy Harrison. Anthea Trainor and Sarah-Ann Smyth came on and made a good impression.

*The U-10s were at the Glasdrumman tournament recently and
continued their good form with big wins in their group against
Carryduff B, Loughinisland, an amalgamated team and a one point victory over Bryansford to top the group. Due to their convincing group wins Longstone earned a place in the final where they met Bryansford again and were leading with only minutes left when an unfortunate goal put Bryansford in the lead but they battled back an it was all square when the final whistle went. Extra time was needed to decide the winner, it was a brilliant game and it was Bryansford who were celebrating at the end of extra time with a two point win. Lady luck was not on their side as the team twice rattled the crossbar in normal time. A brilliant effort again from the boys and girls and at the final whistle everyone was talking about the quality of the final between two very good teams. We thank Glasdrumman for the invitation to what was a very enjoyable day.

*The U-8s were at the Glasdrumman tournament on Saturday and played several games against the home team, Mayobridge and Rostrevor. The players enjoyed their day and thanks to the Glasdrumman club for hosting the games.
