Juvenile AGM - is on Thursday 3rd December at 7.30pm. If anyone is willing to help in any capacity with our young players in 2016, please attend this meeting. Every little helps. Our young players are our future.
AGM - is on Thursday 10th December at 7pm. This is your club, if you think you can lend a hand or add something different, come to this meeting and have your say. Thank you.
Family Christmas Day - is in the Park on Sunday 27th December at 3pm. There will be something for everyone, Quiz, Mixed darts, Arts /Crafts, Bingo, great craic and music. Everyone welcome, come on out.
Senior Camogie and Hurling Presentation - took place on Saturday night, thanks to players, management, committee and supporters for a great turn out. Thanks to Fr Mulholland and Sean Og McAteer who presented trophies and medals. Thanks to Jim Mullan for taking photos, these will follow. Camogie Winners - Most Promising player: Cliodhna Coleman. Players Player of the Year: Mary Jo Coleman. This was the first year that this award was the Martin Coleman Trophy. Thanks to the family for this and it's great that Mary Jo is the first name on the trophy. Hurling Winners- 3rds Players Player of the Year Joe Kelly. 2nds Players Player of the Year: Darragh Mallon, Managers Player of the Year: Paddy McNally. Seniors Players Player of the Year: Darragh Mallon, Managers Player of the Year: Connor O'Prey. Well done to all these winners. Thanks to the players for all your efforts in 2015. A massive thank you to our coaches and managers, you give up so much time and effort to help our players. Thanks to all who helped last night and all year.
Juvenile Presentation - took place on Friday night, thanks to players, parents and supporters for a great turn out. Thanks to Ronan McCarthy who was MC for the night. A big thank you to our Club President, Fr Mulholland, who said some kind words to our players and coaches, stating that you make our club so special. Thanks to Fr Mulholland who presented trophies and medals along with Maria McNally, Matthew Conlan, Philly Byers and Sean Young. Our Scor Group provided some great entertainment, well done girls and thank you. Also to Maria, Matthew, Robyn OPrey and Connor OPrey for taking part in a question and answer piece. Thanks to Liam McVeigh for taking photos, these will follow. Special mention to U14 Camogie coach Johnny McGrattan, who was present tonight and looking very well. It was great to see and it put a smile on everyones face. Best wishes on your recovery, Johnny. Camogie Winners - U12 Most Promising player: Shona Byers, Player of the Year: Antonia McNamara. U14 Most Promising player: Mia Fitzsimmons, Player of the Year: Colleen McConnell. U16 Players Player of the year: Nuala Mageean, Managers Player of the Year: Jenny Toner. U14 Most Promising Player: Pearce Smyth, Player of the Year: Oran Young. U16 Players Player of the Year: Callum Smyth, Managers Player of the Year: Tom Murray. U18 Players Player of the Year: Daithi Sands, Managers Player of the Year: Tom Murray. A massive well done to all these winners, keep up the good work. But in the eyes of our club, all our players are winners. So don't be disappointed if you didn't win, try and get there next year. Push yourselves on next season, as individuals and more importantly as teams. Keep practicing, listening and learning from your coaches. Thanks to the players for all your efforts in 2015. A massive thank you to our coaches and managers, you give up so much time and effort to help our young players. They do appreciate it and we need your help. Thank you to all the parents, bus drivers, car drivers, first aiders, tea makers and helpers in any capacity. Thanks to our Juvenile Chairman, Gary Mageean and his committee, you do tremendous work. Let's make 2016 a year to remember for our young players.
Congratulations - to Niamh Mallon on winning a Special Merit Award at the Ulster GAA Presidents Awards for her outstanding performance for Ulster in the Inter-provincial Championship and being awarded the Player of the Tournament Award.
Ports Strictly Come Dancing - is on 29th and 30th January 2016. Training is going well. Tickets will go on sale on Sunday 10th January in the Park, they will go fast, so get in quick to avoid disappointment.
Scor na Sinsir - the Club are looking for anyone interested in the adult version in February. There are different categories such as singing, group and solo, set dancing and a quiz team amongst them. Anyone interested can contact a member of the Cultural Committee: Kathy McGrattan, Connor Braniff, Jim Mullan and Mary Jo Mallon. It would be great to see adult participation and there are a lot of talented people in the club capable of taking part. Thanks in advance
