Former Kerry and Clare senior football manager Peter Keane has joined the backroom team of Cork club Aghabullogue for the 2026 season.

EchoLive.ie reports that the three-time All-Ireland minor winning boss has linked up with his younger brother Ray Keane who steered Aghabullogue to Premier intermediate championship honours in the Rebel County last year and, as a result, the Muskerry club will be playing in the senior ranks for the first time this coming season.

Last September saw Ray Keane appointed as Cork’s new U20 football manager on a two-year term, with fellow 2010 All-Ireland SFC winner Paul Kerrigan as team coach and Kevin O’Sullivan and Enda Kiernan the selectors.

Given his experience at inter-county level management, the securing of Peter’s services is seen as a major coup for Aghabullogue who get their 2026 campaign underway this Sunday when they take on Bishopstown in their Division 3 Football League opener.

Incidentally, Bishopstown have added Cork great Larry Tompkins to their backroom team ahead of the season’s start.
