Darragh Fitzgibbon will captain Cork’s senior hurlers for the 2026 season.
Ben O’Connor’s men commence their Allianz League campaign Sunday week and it was confirmed yesterday that Fitzgibbon will skipper the team for the upcoming campaign.
The Charleville clubman, who is now 28, succeeds Robert Downey as the Rebels’ new captain, with Mark Coleman (Blarney) taking up the role of vice-captain.
Fitzgibbon made his inter-county senior debut in 2017 and since went on to win three All-Star awards (2018, 2024 and 2025).
O’Connor’s men start their league title defence at home to Waterford on January 25th at Pairc Ui Chaoimh (throw-in 3.45pm).
