Tyrone are the latest county to vote for a return to even-number age grades for underage competitions.

It means that the Red Hands will revert to U12, U14, U16 and minor age grades with immediate effect.

In a statement released last night, Tyrone GAA said: "Further to this, it was agreed that decoupling within Tyrone will take place at age 17. This means that players in their last year of Minor football (i.e. players aged 18) will also be able to play for their Club’s adult teams – subject to meeting the criteria set down by Ard Chomhairle.

"Tyrone CCC will revise their proposed fixture plan and contact Clubs in the coming days to advise on the required changes to underage competitions."
