"I'd give Tipp a shout of turning up and making it a good contest"

Former Clare and Dublin manager Anthony Daly says he cannot set Tipperary getting a result against Limerick in Sunday’s Munster SHC fourth round clash.

The Premier men travel to TUS Gaelic Grounds needing a win to keep their hopes of an All-Ireland quarter-final place alive, having already lost in their first two outings in the southern province.

Speaking on the RTE GAA podcast, Daly said he expects Tipp to put a fight but eventually succumb to the All-Ireland champions.

"All this talk, and it's going around Limerick as well you can be sure, that Tipp have no one left, and that they were so bad against Clare, that can lead to a little bit of complacency in the mind,” he said.

"I'd give Tipp a shout of turning up and making it a good contest. Tipp are Tipp; they'll play with pride, and they'll be hurting, but I couldn't see them getting a result.

"He'd (John Kiely) like to have it done and dusted. As soon as he beat Waterford the last day I was saying that he can map out his year now.

"He doesn't need to absolutely win on Sunday because he has the luxury of the Clare game. They look like they're in the (top) three anyway, with the scoring difference.

"I think they'd like to get it done on Sunday. Will you see changes? I'd say you could. But it could be the likes of Richie English getting a game; everyone in the country would love to have him.

"It'll still be a formidable outfit, a huge local crowd. Will the Tipp crowd travel? I don't know. I just can't see any other way. They'll be sitting pretty and then they can leave off seven or eight lads for the Clare match!"
