The player who was removed to hospital by Air Ambulance after suffering a head injury in last week’s abandoned Ulster Schools Faul Cup final between Coláiste na Carraige and Ballybay CC in Irvinestown made a surprise appearance at yesterday’s re-fixture at the same venue.
Coláiste na Carraige’s Ryan Jones was injured just before half-time in the original fixture, leading to the game’s abandonment. Thankfully, his injury wasn’t too serious and, he was back – with his left arm in a sling – at the Bawnacre Centre where Tyrone legend Peter Canavan made a special presentation to him on behalf of Ulster Schools GAA.
In Jones’ absence, the Donegal side were well beaten by their Monaghan opponents who now progress to an All-Ireland semi-final.
