Cork football manager Keith Ricken has confirmed that attacker Luke Connolly is no longer part of the squad.
The Rebels were soundly beaten by Roscommon in their Allianz League Division 2 opener against Roscommon yesterday at Dr Hyde Park and, speaking after the 1-13 to 0-10 defeat, Ricken said the Nemo Rangers star was not part of the set-up anymore.
“Luke is gone back to his club to help his body recover from injury,” Ricken is quoted saying by echolive.ie.
It comes after confirmation last week that Ruairi Deane, Michael Hurley, and the White brothers, Mark and Sean, will not be involved for the Leesiders this season, with Kevin Crowley also having parted ways.
Cork welcome Clare to Pairc Ui Chaoimh this Saturday night looking to bounce back from their opening loss to the Rossies and inflict a first defeat of the campaign on the Banner men after their nine-point win over John Maughan’s Offaly in Round 1.
