Robbie Brennan is set to be named as the new Meath senior football manager.

Meath GAA's Management Committee has proposed the current Kilmacud Crokes boss for the position on a three-year term. Colm O'Rourke's successor will have Martin Corey and two-time Tyrone All-Ireland winner Joe McMahon as his selectors.

Brennan, whose appointed will be ratified at the next county board meeting, lives in Dunboyne and won the Keegan Cup as a player in 2005 before going on to manage St Peter's. He is currently chasing a four-in-a-row of Dublin SFC titles with Crokes, having guided them to a controversial All-Ireland success at the beginning of last year.

Corey spent the last two years working as a coach under his brother Vinny in Monaghan, while Omagh man McMahon was part of the coaching team under the joint management of Brian Dooher and Feargal Logan when Tyrone lifted the Sam Maguire in 2021.

Lar Wall, who was involved as a coach with Roscommon last seaon and guided The Downs to a Leinster Club SFC final appearance against Brennan's Kilmacud Crokes in 2022, was the only other nominee for the post.
