Funeral arrangements for Red Óg Murphy

Funeral arrangements for the late Red Óg Murphy have been announced following the Sligo and DCU football star's sudden death in Dublin last weekend.

The 21-year-old trainee primary school teacher will be reposing at his home in Moylough tomorrow (Thursday) with Funeral Mass taking place at 1pm in St Patrick's Church, Moylough on Friday, followed by burial at Bunnacrannagh Cemetery, Curry, Co. Sligo. House is strictly private on Friday morning.

According to a notice on rip.ie, Red Óg will be sadly missed by his heartbroken parents Geraldine and Redmond and his two brothers Oisín and Daithí, grannies Bridgie Murphy, and Maura Lavin, girlfriend Rachel Jackson, aunties Sally Lavin and her husband Eugene, Breda and her husband Barry, uncles Seamus Murphy and his wife Liz, Gerry Murphy and his wife Nilima, Declan Murphy and his wife Deirdre, Jarlath and his wife Marie, Ambrose Lavin and his wife Mary, all their families, cousins, neighbours and friends, club-mates of Curry GAA, DCU team-mates, fellow-students and the wider Sligo GAA community.
