Cork are unbeaten through the first two rounds of the Allianz Hurling League thanks to Darragh Fitzgibbon’s free in the 10th minute of injury-time snatching them a 1-16 to 1-16 draw against Limerick at Pairc Ui Chaoimh tonight.
After a shaky start, William O’Donoghue’s 19th minute goal lifted Limerick and they’d eventually move towards a 1-7 to 0-8 lead at half-time.
The Treaty men’s advantage would be stretched to five early in the restart before Blarney’s Shane Barrett found the net for the home side.
John Kiely’s charges held on to their lead until the late stages and, in the end, it was a brace of frees from Fitzgibbon deep in injury-time that denied them, with this one in the 80th minute (watch it below) securing a share of the points for the Rebels:
