The LGFA has led the tributes to Geraldine Feerick who has passed away after a long battle with liver cancer.
The mother-of-two, who was principal of Cloughbrack NS on the Galway-Mayo border, represented both Galway and Mayo in ladies football and was a selector on TG4's popular 'Underdogs' series.
"We are deeply saddened to learn of Geraldine Feerick’s passing," the LGFA said.
"Geraldine represented Galway, Mayo, Colaiste Mhuire in Tourmakeady, The Neale and Cumann Peil Naomh Padraig, among others, during her playing days, and she was also a selector on the TG4 Underdogs series.
"We extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to Geraldine’s husband Tom, son Paddy and daughter Aimee, sisters Christina and Rita, brothers Martin and Stephen, the extended family and Geraldine’s wide circle of friends
