One of the many lovely stories to emerge from Armagh’s All-Ireland SFC final triumph involved Ben Crealey and his girlfriend Aoife Reynolds.
The couple reunited in the Hogan Stand for the first time since Aoife left for Australia nine months ago moments after the Orchard County’s win over Galway.
"I hadn't seen her in nine months," the midfielder told Marty Morrissey on RTÉ Radio 1’s Morning Ireland programme.
"She was living over in Perth in Australia so I saw her for the first time in nine months after the final whistle over in the Hogan Stand.
"There were loads of special memories yesterday and that's definitely up there as one of them. It's something I'll never forget.”
Crealey added: "I was just exhausted at the final whistle, it was just a sense of satisfaction I suppose. Like all the losses we've had over the past couple of years and all the bad defeats and then kind of pick yourself up after it every night going to training.
"When the final whistle blew, you feel a sense of satisfaction."
