Dublin boss Dessie Farrell paid tribute to the departing Jonny Cooper after his team’s O’Byrne Cup victory over Wicklow last night.

Seven-time All-Ireland winner Cooper announced his retirement from inter-county football last week at the age of 33 and will go down as one of the greatest defenders of his generation.

Speaking to DubsTV after his team’s 2-15 to 0-9 win in Baltinglass, Farrell said the following about the Na Fianna clubman:

“There isn't enough adjectives to describe his qualities. His leadership qualities have been hugely significant. We're sad to see him go, but what a career!"
