Michael Murphy isn’t the only player rejoining the Donegal football squad for 2025.

It’s just over a month since the 2012 All-Ireland winning captain sensationally announced that he was coming out of retirement after two years and it has now emerged that four other players who had previously play for Donegal are also returning. The quartet, according to Donegal Live, are Naomh Conaill pair Eoghan McGettigan and Finnbarr Roarty, Odhran McFadden-Ferry from Gaoth Dobhair and Kilcar’s Eoin McHugh.

A son of 2002 All-Ireland SFC winner James, McHugh has plenty of big-match experience and captained Kilcar this year. Donegal are currently on a warm weather training camp in Abu Dhabi as they aim to build on this year’s Ulster SFC and Allianz League Division 2 successes.
