David Clifford missed a penalty as East Kerry were dethroned as Kerry senior football champions by Dingle in a pulsating county SFC semi-final at Austin Stack Park yesterday.

The divisional side were seeking a third Bishop Moynihan Cup in-a-row, but were beaten 1-14 to 2-16 after extra-time as a Paul Geaney-inspired Dingle set up an all-club final against Dr Crokes.

Clifford netted in the first half, but was denied from the spot by Gavin Curran in injury-time after Geaney had raised Dingle's first green flag in the 42nd minute.

With Tom Leo O'Sullivan, Paul Geaney and Dylan Geaney to the fore, the West Kerry men dominated extra-time to run out convincing winners.

Meanwhile, Dr Crokes reached their first final since 2019 on Saturday with a 0-14 to 0-9 victory over St Brendan's.
