Holders Doon staged a late smash and grab to keep alive their hopes of advancing directly to the semi-final stage of the 2025 Limerick SHC.

Captain Darragh O’Donovan was the match-winner at Kilmallock on Friday night as his last-gasp point from the middle of the pitch handed the champions a battling 3-17 to 2-19 victory over Ballybrown.

Derek McGrath’s charges are now assured of knockout hurling and will secure a semi-final berth if they win their final group match.

Elsewhere in Round Four last night, in the same group, Ahane’s 1-21 to 2-14 victory over Patrickswell at Claughaun – with Tom Morrissey on target ten times - keeps them on course for a quarter-final place, while The Well are demoted to Group Two for 2026.

Meanwhile, at Clarina, in Group Two, Mungret St Paul’s delivered a power-packed second half display to boost their hopes of reaching the knock-out stages with 1-18 to 0-10 win over Kildimo-Pallaskenry. The sides shared twelve points in the first half but Liam Lynch’s 32nd-minute major swung the momentum in favour of Brian Begley’s men.
