The CCCC are awaiting referee Noel Mooney's report before deciding whether or not to investigate an alleged push on the Cavan match official by a supporter at the end of last Sunday's Allianz Football League Division 1 clash between Galway and Mayo in Castlebar.

TG4 cameras captured the moment when a fan ran onto the pitch after the final whistle and appeared to shove Mooney from behind following Mayo's 0-16 to 0-26 defeat at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park.

The referee is expected to include the incident in his report. Mayo GAA has vowed to review stewarding procedures at the venue in the wake of the incident and to cooperate with the expected probe which could result in a lengthy ban for the spectator in question.
