Abandoned Westmeath SHC final refixed for Saturday

Yesterday’s abandoned Westmeath SHC final has been refixed for next Saturday in TEG Cusack Park at 2pm.
Lough Lene Gaels were leading Castletown-Geoghegan 0-2 to 0-0 when four-time All-Ireland SHC final referee Barry Kelly decided to call a halt to proceedings in the 13th minute after the pitch cut up badly in the heavy rain. It had earlier hosted the MHC final between Clonkill and Raharney, and two other hurling finals on Saturday.
Westmeath GAA said a statement: "Due to inclement weather conditions, today's final between Castletown-Geoghegan and Lough Lene Gaels at TEG Cusack Park has been abandoned for safety reasons."
TEG Cusack Park was also due to host today’s IFC final replay between Garrycastle and Milltown, but that will now take place at nearby Lakepoint Park (St Loman’s) at 2pm.
