Former Adree St Mary’s boss Cathal Murray has made a quick return to management with Belfast club St Brigid’s.

The Down man recently stepped down after four hugely successful years in charge of Ardee. They won three successive Louth SFC titles on his watch and also ran eventual All-Ireland club champions Cuala to a point in last year’s Leinster final. Ardee’s quest for a four-in-a-row of Joe Ward Cups was ended at the quarter-final stage by Newtown Blues in September.

Murray will now take the reins at St Brigid’s who were beaten by a point by champions-elect Dunloy in this year’s Antrim SFC quarter-final.
