Colmcille manager Ger Carberry is set to face into a hectic couple of days this weekend as his side look to capture the Longford SFC title.

Colmcille’s opponents at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park on Sunday (4pm) are Killoe Young Emmets, with Carberry’s men looking to go one better than last year’s county final and record what would be the club’s first Sean Connolly Cup success in three years.

An intriguing subplot to the big game in Longford this weekend will see Colmcille’s boss togging out for Killoe on Saturday in the county Junior C final against Ardagh Moydow.

Speaking to GAA.ie, Carberry says he’s looking forward to being involved in both finals this weekend.

“It will be a contrasting weekend now. We're in the Junior C final on Saturday, Killoe are in the Junior A final before the main final on Sunday. They're in three finals this weekend,” he outlined.

“You just deal with it, you love the craic and banter with the lads. There will be a bit of slagging in the dressing room, it is great. When you don't take it too seriously, it is brilliant, and I know the lads well.”

He added: “I've been with Killoe for the last 17 years. I coached two senior championship teams with them under Tommy McCormack and Declan Rowley. So, I've coached a lot of the team we will be playing on Sunday.”
