Gardaí are investigating the theft of roof lead and metal fencing from Mick Neville Park in Rathkeale.

The theft, which took place last month, has left the local club reeling after it opened a new 705-seater stand last year as part of a major upgrade to its facilities. Rathkeale has also been a training base for the Limerick hurlers and footballers who avail of its floodlit facilities during the winter months.

“Gardaí received a report of an incident of criminal damage that occurred on Wednesday, August 21 at a premises in the Wolfesburgess East area of Rathkeale. Investigations are undergoing at this time,” a Garda spokesperson told the Limerick Leader.

Anyone with any information relating to the theft is asked to contact Newcastle West Gardaí at 069 20650.
