Antrim defender Declan Lynch has called time on his intercounty career.

The Lamh Dhearg clubman made his championship debut against Fermanagh ten years ago and it was fitting that his last appearance in the saffron shirt was at Croke Park.

The 32-year-old former Antrim captain was part of the team beaten by Laois in Sunday’s Tailteann Cup semi-final at GAA HQ.

Lynch thought his intercounty career had ended the previous weekend when he was substituted with his side trailing Fermanagh by seven points at Brewster Park, but his team-mates produced a rousing comeback to set up an emotional Croke Park farewell.
