UCD will face near rivals DCU in the Sigerson Cup semi-final.

UCD, UL and Queen's University were victorious in last night's Sigerson Cup games.

Despite having captain Kevin Kennedy sent off in the 22nd minute, UCD powered to a 1-13 to 0-8 win over Ulster University at Dave Billings Park in Belfield, with Donncha Gilmore's late goal sealing the deal after the visitiors had reduced the deficit to the minimum after trailing 0-3 to 0-7 at half-time.

Two points each from Paul Keaney and Paul Walsh helped edge UL past Maynooth University on a 0-8 to 0-7 scoreline. The sides were level on 0-4 apiece at half-time, but the Limerick students opened up a two-point gap after the restart and keep their noses in front.

Queen's University were 1-14 to 1-10 winners over TUS Midlands in Páirc Esler in Newry after the game was moved from Belfast due to the freezing conditions.

Joe McQuaid's superb second half goal proved crucial after the teams were tied at 0-6 apiece at the break.
