Westmeath and Kildare likely put out stronger selections than many of the top counties did. These are only pre season games. Bad pitches, bad weather, players at different stages of heavy fitness training, mostly fringe players playing. We were 8 points down to Kildare at half time.

Cork played Waterford and UCC, and are playing Westmeath next.

Any idea of the team we had out against Kildare or how the Westmeath game went yesterday?

Championship could be very different! Are WM in McCarthy?

Replying To Afinestick96:  "Very difficult team to pick. A pity there was no walsh cup I presume there is a challenge game or two for the panel of 46 this weekend? Think we need to be wary of playing too many debutants for this game from I think Cork are a fine team and will come in all guns blazing.
Team I would go with is
1. Fanning
2. Eoin Ryan
3. Eoin Whelan
4. Shane Reck
5. Conor Foley
6. D Reck
7 Cian Molloy
8. Sean Rowley
9.Conor Hearne
10. ROC
11. Jack Redmond
12. Tucker Kinsella
13. Cian Byrne
14. Mac ( Not sure if hes fit)
15. Kevin Foley (Third Midfielder)

Still a young team with plenty of talent. 3 lads making their debuts with more off the bench"
We simply have to move Damien Reck out of 6. I'm not sure who the answer is but it definitely isn't him. The two Recks in the corners for me and young Whelan at 3. Id try Molloy at 6, about time he started delivering on the potential he showed at underage level. Agreed on Kevin Foley out around the middle. If Cork are really on it, they will win and possibly handy enough. But our lads need to be standing up to them physically and when we get the ball don't just whack it up pitch.

I think we could be in for a difficult NHL campaign in all honesty. But it's time to find new players and a game plan that suits them.

Got caught down a rabbit hole on YouTube. One of the best atmospheres at a game I've been at. Dont think I'll ever forget Redmonds goal.

Id agree like to see Molloy at 6 but cant see management changing Reck from 6

I reckon 03 in nowlan park v Waterford was a better atmosphere. Kilkenny town was buzzing all day. Wasn't at 14 game I was living abroad in New Zealand but I remember watching it and was jealous not to be there

I remember that game in 03 Larry Murphy was on fire. Have looked for footage of that game before but cant seem to find it!
There was a great atmosphere at the game in 2014. There was a sense that we were really on the way back and anything was possible that summer. I remember 100's of Wexford supporters waiting to get into Nowlan Park 2 hours before the game that day. That summer and 2019 are my favourite following Wexford!

Great shout about 03 in Kilkenny, one of the absolute best places to celebrate a victory, place was hopping. Great day and night.

That was a brilliant Day. Great banter between supporters.

Some would say that's one of the highlights of the last decade.

Hopefully they get the lights they are trying to get in, and we might get to play there more often!

My personal highlights following Wexford since 03 would have to be;

1. Leinster win in 2019
2. Mick Jacob goal in 04
3. Fitzhenry penalty vs Tipp in 07
4. Beating Kilkenny in 17 LSF
5. Rory McCarthy vs Cork 03

Maybe I'm showing my age here but beating Offaly is always good. 04 Leinster Final was a great day!

Would have the same opinion myself apart from number 3 I would have the victory over Clare in the park in 2014. It was our first big championship win in years knocking out the All Ireland Champions after an epic battle
