Imagine coming on here spending your days posting stuff like this but in April and May you will be roaring on these fellas in a Monaghan jersey. It's incredible

Highly unlikely they get past the first round in Ulster.

Congratulations to Emyvale. Where does this win rank against their other Junior titles?

Great win for Emyvale hopefully the they'll be fit to win the junior again in two years time when there back down there, that number 6 is a terrific player would love to see him get a chance in on the senior panel this year would definitely get a place in the half back line alongside McCarthy and maybe o toole if he's fit

With Glen, Slaughtneil, Errigal Ciaran all beaten they will be fancying a chance if they get over Inniskeen. Kilcoo will be hard beaten IMO.
Scotstown should get over Inniskeen but it could be a dog fight.

Should be a good few weekends of football following the Ulster series.

I think whats more impressive is that the team have gone the whole year undefeated. They also were playing all year without the two county players (McAnespie and Hamill) Add in the young players who are now the backbone to the current team (McKenna, Finn, Colleran etc) Intermediate next year is a step up but I would be very confident that they will compete for intermediate if they keep the current young team and keep the county men uninjured. Realistically they were always going to be far to strong for junior this year and that has proven the case.

Is it just me or have we a significant number of county men injured through this club campaign?
To my knowledge, Ryan McAnespie, Micheal Hammill, Stephen O'Hanlon, Bobby McCaul, Dessie Ward, Ryan O'Toole, Conor McCarthy & Louis Kelly have all missed the vast majority of the year with the obvious men not back at all.
Can't remember it ever been as bad before.

It was fairly comfortable for emyvale. They have potential the push on definitely and some nice players. Thats there third junior since 2013. Credit to Seans who tried their best. Kieran duffy also gone. Great servant very underrated.

This was expected by Emyvale, dispite going down last year i didn't think they were one of the worst teams in intermediate just always seem to have falling outs and bust ups within the group and that never helps.

With Kieran Duffy and all the others calling time on the county scene, and not a lot of young talent pulling up trees the way our former stalwarts did in their prime in any championship next years Div.1 league campaign could get ugly.. That being said, perhaps all the other slightly rural counties are facing a similar bit of a decline. Who knows.

A word for Duffy though. What a player, could easily have played midfield or half forward for 10 years there and not looked out of place. That he was willing and happy to soldier away in corner and fullback shows the measure of the man and the all round ability he had all over the pitch. I seeing him kick maybe 7 from play and a few frees against us when he was only maybe 18. Some player and not too many like him.

Emyvale well worth the win yesterday, far too much for a honest seans team , all with out the 2 county men and with gallagher and wright only playing small parts
Good to see niall kearns back

On sat , we get a replay of 2023 intermediate final,
Carrickmacross on the hunt for revenge , which i think will be achieved , callan has them lads very focused,
No celebration after the semi final win , no bunting or flags around the town , all very low key ,
O hanlon after his man of the match semi performance will be keen to prove his quailty again especially after not having his best day 2 years ago ,
Him, lynch , maguire and cassidy should be enough to get them over the line
Killanny a good team but dont have enough match winners in the side
I m going carrick by 4
O hanlon mom

Sunday ,the big one
Everything says scotstown as per usual , but having seen inniskeen a few times this year , winning mostly in 3 rd gear , think there may a big big performance in them , would take a perfomance of their lives to get over the line, 9 times out of 10 scotsown take the mick duffy , i m going to go for the 1 out of 10 here
Inniskeen by 2
Mc nulty mom

They have it in their own hands. Behave themselves and compete in Intermediate or do the Emyvale thing and fall out among each other and head back down Junior. Some wonderful young players in the squad. It be a shame to waste their talent.

Best wishes to Keran Duffy retiring a huge part of monaghan sides past 15 years a real stalwart and v underrated player who was hugely consistent for the county over that time. It's lads like him create the foundation of successful county sides. Good to see Karl Gallagher and Niall Kearns back on club scene over weekend. Their county could do with them next year.

Any word if Kearns and Gallagher are back for good now ? Would be a great addition alright especially with the few retirements

Not sure, but it would seem likely. On a recent Farney Amry Pod, Gabriel Bannigan said on his wishlist would be that one or both of the aforementioned would return so you can be sure he'll be onto both on a return to the senior squad. I think 2026 squad will focus more on returning players rather than new faces - aside form the two lads already mentioned, you'd be hoping Hamill and McCaul return from their long term injuries and back to their best. Could Aaron Mulligan be tempted back, he was excellent for Latton in the championship, though carry an injury against Scotstown which impacted his perfomance) ? Shane Hanratty has again been very good.

New Faces - Surely McGarrell will get a call up based on his Corduff. Niall McKenna from Emyvale might get a call up. Fionan Carolan and Matthew Carolan from Carrick have been top class. Who else has stood out?
