Replying To ORIELMAN85:  "Did you study any maths in school?"
Why's that now? Are the towns not the biggest populated areas of the county?

I suggest you do another bit of research into some of the clubs you named and check out the numbers of GAA players available to them.

Replying To countymonaghan:  "Agreed! Most Senior teams are villages and small enough ones at that. Blayney, Carrick, Monaghan Harps, Clones, Ballybay all have the biggest numbers and aren't challenging anything worth talking about. Could this be the first year ever that there is no 'Town' team in senior football? (depending on intermediate results)

I wouldn't say there is many countys in the country could say that."
Just enlighten me to how there will be no town team in Senior next year.

So what would be your excuse for your embarrassing forays into Ulster?

to be fair he said populated areas not clubs. the country clubs do seem to get their hands on players and keep them....towns have different things going on and different sports too - just a comment based on no fact checking...i feel like in the country everyone knows someone and if your not at the football you'd be quizzed on why not whereas in the town you've got a broader mix of people and maybe less affiliation with local gaa

"Embarrassing forays into Ulster", that's an oxymoron if I ever saw one..

Calling the perennial county champions embarrassing is surely somewhat illiterate. I can tell by your comments your team hasn't won a senior championship in what..20-30 odd years. That's embarrassing, same as it is for my club.

Scotstown have their faults but their success can't be argued with and mocking success is the sure sign of a loser.

I clearly said depending on Intermediate results. You must be from a town team that ain't going so well you are very defensive on this whole thing.

Scotstown, Clontibret, Inniskeen, Maghercloone, Corduff, Cremartin, Truagh, Latton are all villages.

And yes I clearly said 'populated' areas. So more to pick from.. It is up to them to make it a good environment and make it appealing to their people to stay and join and stick with their club.

Who'd back against Scotstown at least reaching an All Ireland club this year? What teams would you fear in Ulster??

based on the last 30 plus years, i think you would find plenty that would back against them reaching the semi... If you think the derry, tyrone champions or kilcoo (who schooled them last year) would fear the untitled parishes... think again... barstool talk in moynas doesn't win ulster titles...

Well if you paid any attention to Monaghan football, you would know that it is impossible not to have a town team in Senior next year.

As a Scotstown supporter I'd be worrying about the the challenge of a hungry, motivated Inniskeen first, potential for a storm next weekend could lead to postponement or an extremely scrappy game which in my opinion, would benefit Inniskeen.

On Ulster, sadly I believe that ship has sailed and won't be completed with this core group of players anyway! Can't believe the disrespect Kilcoo are getting from the general public and the Bookies. Plus, Glenties will give whoever comes out of Monaghan a torrid time before potentially facing a Magherafelt team who are dark horses.

County finals aren't easy won no matter who you are and another would be greatly cherished!

What Orielman means is that it is impossible for there not be a town team promoted as one of Carrick, Blayney and harps are guaranteed to go up.

They'll hardly pose much concern for the top teams.

Scotstown are one of the best teams in Ulster. It's not barstool talk. When they win it this year people won't be coming on to say they are shocked rather it'll be "about time" "good to see they finally delivered on their potential"
