What are the realistic expectations for 2026 under new management??

With the Ladies All Ireland Senior Football Final on this Sunday - I feel for Lauren Magee tbh.

It is madness in this day and age that players are facing the stress of having to pay for this:-

Yeah I think there is a serious few months for the new management team to strip things back to basics, address the new rules properly and then look at personnel. As you say there is not a whole lot coming at underage now which is especially worrying when you see what the likes of Tyrone have been doing in recent years at underage. We have slipped an awful lot in that regard at provincial level. There is still a decent core for the senior side there but the support cast just won't be all that good.

Try to win Leinster has to be the main one.
We might struggle to maintain our Div 1 status tbh, with a new manager on board trying out new players, new systems and trying to adapt better than we did this season, to the new rules, especially the 2 pointers...

We are sure to lose a few players also, but maybe, just maybe, a couple of the 3 amigo's might return.

Good to see both JM & BC involved with our underage group.
We really took our eye off the ball at underage imo.

Our 2 proposed COE's / Training Facilities are lying idle and not even started.
At this rate, we could be back playing our League games in the Neller, like our Hurlers.
It goes in cycles and we are in the middle of our downward one.

But at least we will have a competitive Leinster SFC now, and it can't be thrown at us that Leinster Football Championship is a foregone conclusion. Only 1 province can relate to that now.

The Dublin SFC will be interesting to say the least, with so many players trying to impress the new management setup.
But the small amount of hardcore Dublin fans will continue going to games no matter what, just like our Hurling fans.
;o)

I heard today that 2 of your 3 mentioned will be involved.

Looks like Dec has it.

I would be happy with those 2 as a starting point.

It will be very interesting who else is added to the backroom team.

I would definitely be asking PG to come on board in some capacity.

Really expected Ger to get it. Darcy brings great experience and a nice link back to Jim and it would be nice to have Jim involved in some shape or form, if he's open to it. I wonder will they bring Ger into the fold. He's loads to offer as an ex-player, AI winner, captain, club and county manager. Surely these guys would relish the challenge of trying to topple Kerry and recapture Sam. Exciting times ahead.

Ladies All Ireland Senior Football Final:-
Dublin 2-16 v Meath 0-10 FT

Superb win for the Jackeens today in HQ in front of an excellent attendance of over 48,000 fans.
The Dubs led by 2-09 to 0-04 at half time with all Meath's 4 first half scores coming from frees.

I didn't expect Dublin to hammer Meath tbh.
It was probably our best performance of the season.

Our 7th All Ireland Ladies title, and we had 7 starters from the team who lined out in the 2021 final.

Although we beat Meath 2-19 to 0-09 in the League, and then beat them by 7pts in the Leinster Final, many expected the All Ireland Final to be a much closer game.

We had 7 different scorers and held the Royal Ladies to just 4pts from play throughout the whole game, and limited both Wall and Duggan to just a point each from play.

Great way for Hannah, who I think has scored 8-33 in this year's Championship, to hang up her boots, and I expect at least a couple more might follow suit.

As for our captain - Carla Rowe, what a player.
Player of the season is probably between her and Hannah, although I think Hannah will probably get it.

Delighted for Goldie, Leah, Nicole, Niamh and of course the injured Lauren.

Atha Cliath Abú.

A lot of club players will be trying to impress the incoming management team.
It will be challenging, trying to unearth inter county standard players but hopefully they can find a few for us.
Definitely some very busy months ahead.

It will be interesting to see how many of this season's missing Dublin players, will line out for their clubs next weekend.

On the games themselves, the 1st round of games can generally throw up a shock or two.

That 7pt win was in the Leinster group stage.
The Leinster Final was of course, a 4pt victory for the Jackeens.

Anyway, hope the ladies, and the management team and of course Paul & Derek have a great night.

Exactly - that has to be the priority.
Possibly even at the expense of our Division 1 status, where there will be a lot of tweaking of the squad and our tactics.

Nicole and Hannah have both retired from the Jackeens.

Expecting another couple will follow suit - but what a way to go out.

Exemplary players.

Wonderful scenes in the Castleknock Hotel last night.
