Replying To sligo joe:  "Why do you think I was born in Sligo, HS, name, Sligo Joe, County: DUBLIN"
Can't see any reason why anyone would think you're from Sligo sligo joe

Replying To sligo joe:  "A narrative on this Donegal thread that the poor return of All Irelands for Ulster teams is down to the tough campaign in Ulster. Maybe/maybe not. This tough Ulster campaign theory is repeated so often that it is taken now as fact. Proponents of this theory ignore the fact that the success rate of Ulster teams in the league is equally poor over the last 20 years. The same two teams with the most Sam's in these 20 years also have 11 of the twenty div1 league titles, Dublin and Kerry. Maybe the truth is there are many decent div1 teams in Ulster but just not quite good enough with a respectful exception for Tyrone."
A relentless narrative from you is that we should ignore the turkey shoot campaigns that Kerry and Dublin experience each year and your league argument is weak too considering those two can go hard at the league, knowing their provincial 'championships' are basically non-entities. Best of luck to Sligo today.

I can't either, when any of us opened a HS account we were asked for a user name I.e sligo joe (as I live in County Sligo) and we were asked to provide our County in brackets, in my case (DUBLIN) Plain for all to see after each post!

Tyrone won 3 All Irelands in 6 years because they had a quality team but I suppose they would have won 6 in a row if they were in Leinster.
Yes I'll be in Markievicz this evening shouting on Sligo and on to the Hyde tomorrow to support my own County against Mayo.

A feeble Clare outfit, can we play in munster too! Well done to Jim and the lads for topping the group and getting straight to the quarter finals

Imagine Kerry had their Munster final against that Clare team we walked over today. Case in point if ever there was one.. but you keep defending what you know to be wrong.

Exactly, Sligo Joe will be telling you Kerry and Dublin have no advantage over Ulster teams. Kerry had their provincial final against Clare. Sweet divine.

It will be interesting to see/hear how Cork people will feel now about scheduling of games?? ...I would expect their championship journey to end as a result in the next 2 weeks. Cork got a flavour of what the ulster championship is like facing 2 quality teams in 3 weeks and have been found wanting

Phew! Thanks Tyrone. Thank god we get two weeks to quarter final.

Am I right in saying we can't get Armagh nor Tyrone but we could get Derry again? I'd expect Armagh to beat Galway so in theory, our hardest opponents could be Galway or Mayo( unless Mayo do the unthinkable and beat Dublin tomorrow and light up the whole championship)

Kerry also beat Cork in Munster?

They weren't found wanting against us, beat us fair and square.

Donegal now in a great position if we had topped group winning all 3 games the hype from the national media would have reached biblical proportions, instead they will have attached alot of weight to the Cork game and we have been moved well down the pecking order as a result with Armagh being the new darlings of the nationals

Congrats to our players on a very strong performance.

Re the above post, Cork were without arguably their best player today and were harshly awarded a black card in the 2nd half, which didnt do them any favours. But you are right, they are now involved in a quick succession of fixtures that is not ideal for their long term championship ambitions. Im glad we dont have to do it the hard way.

Clutching at straws... By the way, you were on here last week telling us all in Donegal how we should be praising Cork. No mention of our performance today from you, more of your continued weak argument. I'm glad Donegal football engages your mind to such a degree.

You'd hardly begrudge them a bit of excitement after taking down a team who were big favourites.

Had lots of Cork people sitting around me too and found them very gracious in victory. Too bad if they can't celebrate their team winning.
