Don't take offence lad. I can't understand your reply . Did I say anything that's not true. You know what they say the truth hurts. See you in Omagh lol.

Replying To Lockjaw:  "Yeah Conor O'Donnell will be a big miss to the squd if he's out. He is a very good footballer and has a good eye for a goal.
Gallen is the main man though. We have to hope and pray he stays injury free. He showed glimpses last year but if he can get a fully uninterrupted season then I think he really has the ability to push himself into that real elite bracket.

Interested to hear others thoughts on this...for me I'd categorise the quality of forwards in the country as below (not an exhaustive list by any means)

1. David Clifford - I think he's out on his own in his own category as the best forward in the country.
2. Players like Shane Walsh, Shane McGuigan, Con O'Callaghan, Paul Mannion, Darragh Canavan, Damien Comer, Ryan O'Donoghue

If Gallen can put together an uninterrupted run of form in 2024 he could push himself into the second category of players listed above in my opinion."
Strong list of forwards. But I'm not sure I'd have Walsh as high as his form isn't as consistent as the rest. Mannion is one of the best players there's been over the last 10 year. Dessie was stupid to disregard him when he first came in.

Yeah Walsh maybe isn't as consistent, but there's no doubt about it, when he's on song there's fewer better players in the country you'd pay to watch. He was unbelievable in the 2022 AI final despite ending up on the losing side. He has been showing signs that he's back to his best in recent times with Crokes. I think if himself and Comer could get an injury free run at it, Galway could be a team to watch in 2024.

Good to see Mulreany getting a game before the Cork match, otherwise the team looks as expected. Derry have some big names on so should be a good test, looking forward to it!

Great to see Mulreany get a start surely, last weeks game against Monaghan just shows that you can't be 100% dependent on one man. I know Patton is suspended for the Cork game, but if he were to pick up an injury, we would need a good replacement.

It's a pity we are missing Langan and McGee this evening. Both have been going very well but both missed the Mknaghan game also. I'd like to see them build a partnership in midfield.

We need Mulreany to push Patton for the number one spot. That will ensure no complacency from Patton and make sure he keeps his standards up. When he if fully focussed he's up there with the best in the country.

My view on watching that game tonight is McGuinness and his players have put their full focus and effort towards the start of the league.

Or maybe Derry are a better team than Donegal.

what exactly did mcbrearty do to get the red card - did he actually swing at someone or did he just inject himself into the row which resulted in a few more seconds of handbags and pushing. Was hard to see from my angle.

All shall be revealed in the upcoming league campaign. Never seen Jim McGuinness to smile so much after a defeat as he did tonight.

Derry were arguably closer to full strength than Donegal. Wouldn't be getting too excited either way.

It wasn't a good display tonight but it's a bit premature to be writing them off as not able to " even compete" with Derry (minus Glenn players) after a game in January.

The reality is Derry have been the bench mark in Ulster for the last 2 years, so it might take more than a matter of weeks for McGuinness to get Donegal up to a similar level, especially coming from such a low ebb last season.

Donegal were missing plenty of likely starters tonight too, the goalkeeper (Patton), full back (McCole), midfielders (Langan & McGee), half back Eoghan Ban Gallagher with possibly Niall & Conor O'Donnell in the forwards.

And Donegal were 100% fit yeah? Plenty more to come from both teams that were playing tonight

I dont think Mc Kenna Cup is too important in Jim's targets for the year. You will see a different team and intensity next week. Jim was hardly going to show his hand too much today with a big match in Celtic Park in a few months time. I know Derry were also missing a few vital players but todays match will have no bearing come the Championship.....

The reality is that McBrearty isn't able to contribute scores as an inside forward any more. He's being accommodated out the field but in reality he provides nothing to the team that a hard working average player couldn't

Don't get carried away…. Donegal will not become anything because Mc Guinness is back…
