Lets see how this prediction is getting on... Clonguish win Division 1 ✔ Clonguish win Leader Cup ✔ Grattans might get some reward in the Patsy Reilly Cup final after missing out on promotion in Division 2. Next up Championship - My prediction remains unchanged. County final likely a repeat of the Leader Cup final. Clonguish to win with some margin. This is their year. Nothing strange about it as he seems to be constantly downplaying Clonguish for some strange reason. You could also add Moore, Devlin, Sorohan, Sheridan and Smyth to the absentee list of Clonguish. Don't get me wrong, Colmcille will be right up there come championship time as they have proven they are a very good team. But only for Clonguish having to play the last 10 minutes with 14 men last weekend the winning margin could have been a lot bigger. This championship in Longford is a very wide open affair with Abbey, Killoe and Mullinlaghta also there competing. I don't know what to make of Dromards league form.....but thankfully for them, Mostrim and the Gaels look destined for the drop.

Ignore the killoe stats propaganda, the championship is wide open. League form is irrelevant given the number of players teams were missing. Any of Abbeylara, Killoe, Clonguish, Mullinalaghta and Colmcille can win it out with Slashers and Dromard not far off either. Mostrim and Drumlish are going down with both likely to take heavy beatings. Connollys should finally win the intermediate liosbreac6265 (Longford) - Posts: 264 - 30/06/2025 19:26:10 2622743 Link 0 |

Just seen that Killoe have now got 2 teams in division 2 and their first team still in div 1. A tremendous achievement to have 3 teams playing at such a high level next year. stoutspecial (Westmeath) - Posts: 1 - 02/07/2025 01:42:39 2623038 Link 0 |
They won't have 2 teams playing Division 2 next year. Of their Division 2 team, they only had to name 6 players who couldn't play Division 3 football. So apart from 6 players, their Division 3 team was their Division 2 team!

I'm going with Clonguish to win Senior, as they ran away with the league with only half a team available by all accounts. They also have a good spread of players well able to kick 2 pointers. An inconsistent game at the wrong time might be the only thing to catch them out as they haven't that experience of winning a championship yet. Mullinalaghta and Killoe the dark horses here just through experience in big games. botheyesclosed (Longford) - Posts: 128 - 02/07/2025 10:38:26 2623086 Link 0 |

Clonguish should be ahead of kiloe

Why? Killoe have proved they can win championships.....Clonguish have not.

Oh does it really matter it's only a half a betting point. Nonsense post as usual by you. I'd probably have them favs too but it's no big deal. How about you talk about the game and why you think Clonguish are favs? williesboy (Leitrim) - Posts: 505 - 11/07/2025 13:05:15 2624965 Link 0 |

Wow calm down it was opinion on reflection probably is close between 4 or 4 teams kiloe have proven champions but where are they this year Probably could be favourites given their record and maybe bookies are right and my opinion was in haste and probably recency bias but calm down I didn't insult you or any so no need say it was usual nonsense I don't mention much who should or shouldn't win here. Surely what's wrong saying that and maybe I am wrong and say this with their potential and pace the new rules may suit but as with anything they can be caught like some other years Mulinaghta have decent record for them and colmcile have it over mul and kiloe always there or there abouts. It's was just an opinion I didn't say I was right what's the usual nonsense post from what have I said that's nonsense and maybe I will retract some of them. Have a good evening enjoy the good weather hope it doesn't break for the championship Gaaforlife2023 (Longford) - Posts: 907 - 11/07/2025 15:56:59 2624983 Link 0 |

With mindgames aside, Clonguish are the team to beat in this years championship. They have the pedique. OK last year was not their year but they will bounce back. I know Frank will always play down their chances. The real battle is who will go down B&G (Longford) - Posts: 388 - 11/07/2025 22:43:26 2625024 Link 0 |
Abbeylara at 8/1 is a good bet. Cannot see how Dromard for instance are above them. I would put Dromard in relegation trouble.

Mindgames. There is no way Slashers will be in Relegation dogfight. There are worst teams down there. OK They were in Relegation playoff last year coming in a tough group. Clonguish willsurely be in the mix. B&G (Longford) - Posts: 388 - 12/07/2025 17:48:52 2625098 Link 0 |
