Replying To green.and.gold:  "Don't think Keith will be involved unfortunately he has personal issues. Doubtful we have the firepower to go up without him. Jack Gilheany is a huge addition but defensively we're weak especially with our best defender Paddy Maguire gone. With only three home games we're going to need a few big wins on the road to be in the mix."
If we win the 3 home games we'll definitely need at least 2 away wins with a good scoring difference to have any chance of going up.Lots of teams will take points off each other though I think.

Replying To Leitrimforliam:  "He's training on his own in COE. I don't really understand why you either play him or you don't. I'd rather him in the team than the O'Rourkes (who seem to throw the toys out of the pram every time they don't get their way) even for all the stick he gets he's been a committed player over the past few years."
That is a funny one alright but it sounds like he is gonna be involved. and correct, no point placing stock on unreliable players, sorry but you want to play or you dont, fair enough if you are abroad but if in the country and not willing to commit, it is wasted effort, concentrate on who you CAN get to commit, if they do then great, if not forget it

Would you not consider leaving the lad alone and stop the speculation. A class player, show him a bit of respect

What are you talking about? The situation is up in the air and some posters want to know the latest. All anyone has said is that he is training but hasn't joined up with the panel yet. Others have stated he is a big loss and that he has been a very committed player to Leitrim in the past few years. Don't see where anyone has been disrespectful.

Maybe stick to your own forum. I'd never bother going into a Sligo forum I really don't understand why you always see them jumping on ours. And even stranger coming on to "stick up" for a Leitrim footballer.

The dogs in the street know the problems the lad has and I will stand up for any footballer in any county when they need back up. I have no more to add. to this debate

Anyone have a comprehensive list of Leitrim footballers involved in Sigerson/college competitions?
The only ones I'm aware of as of now are

UL : Paul Keaney
DCU: Adam Reynolds
Sligo: Cian Singleton, Jack Casey, Conor Quinn, Radak Oberwan

Galway have selected a 3rd string side. Will be questioned asked of Andy Moran and Co if Leitrim don't win tomorrow.

It's a pity Leitrim wouldn't a name a team for tomorrow or even a squad. Galway have announced the team and subs. Shouldn't be the Drumming we got last yeah as Galway have went a lot weaker or inexperience maybe a better choice of words. I'd hope Leitrim go strong and try and get to the final against most likely Roscommon. Playing 2 div 1 squads in the lead up to league is good prep.

Moran has been at this nonsence since Day 1. It's fairly nonsensical at this stage. It's not as if the opposition are going to be too worried about who we pick in fairness.

Leitrim won't get within ten points of Galway tomorrow. Don't be coming out with this bull about getting to a final. Not a chance in hell of us getting anything in the Dome. Not a chance.

I think alot of the criticism of Moran on here has been nonsense when you think about the injuries and absentees he's had to deal with.

However, I couldn't agree more when people call him out for not naming a squad/team well in advance of games. Every other team does it.
It really is a lack of respect for supporters and doesn't help to build the profile or support of our team. Moran should know this especially as he was so prominent in the media before he got the job.

It'll be interesting to see the team he picks. We have had a bus full of players out absent with hip injuries over the winter (they might not be risked on the surface in the dome) and as far as I know Tom Prior damaged his hamstring again. Paul Keaney also played a full game for UL in the Sigerson Cup.

Personally I'd like to see Killian Gaffey in goals (it's one of our weak points) and a look at Jack Gilheany at Midfield as I think he will partner Dolan here once the league starts.

I really don't know who we are going to end up starting the league with as wing backs as many of the players who we would pick there are not on the panel.
I've a feeling we will see forwards trying to play here again.

In reality the challenge games we have played in the last few weeks will be more important than a game against Galways development panel on a synthetic surface but its always good to get a look at new players at thisntime of year.

Paul Keaney was substituted early in the second half in Sigerson going by the reports. Not sure if it was injury but his replacement scored a goal in the 46th minute

Galway have named a very experimental team. Leitrim should be looking to win this game.
