Is Ben definitely out for tomorrows game and how serious is the injury?? Will he be available for mayo Saturday week

That is very disappointing with Ben. He hasn't had much luck with injuries since the club final. Any word on Ronan Daly? He must be injured seeing as he's not in match day squad. Another huge loss for us. I'd be very happy if we were competitive the whole game and if we could keep within 5-6 points of Dublin. Hopefully push on then for Mayo and Cavan matches. We definitely owe Mayo one in the Hyde. Can't believe it's 23 years since we stormed the pitch in the Hyde for our last championship win over Mayo at the Hyde. Anyway best of luck to the Ros team and management and hopefully they can believe in themselves. Plenty of talent there and no reason why we can't be competing with Dublin and beating Mayo. Ah that's really disappointing. Huge loss for us and without him we don't have a real ball winner inside with Henaghen out to. Can't see it going well at all tomorrow

Watching championship games so far this year it is really evident how teams in the top 8 have players with pace, power and athleticism. Ourselves and Monaghan are really lacking that. We have nice footballers and some great score takers but maybe it's the reason we are more liable to play a slow build up game? Cian McKeon was a player who had speed and could take on a defender and to lose Ben O'Carroll as well is real blow.

We owe them alright. 23 years seems a long time but we have only played Mayo at home in championship something like 4 times since then, two of those games were very close and one definitely left behind us. So their dominace in the Hyde for championship is over egged I think. We had a far worse record in Castlebar before 2019 and we turned that around.

Was tomorrow ever going to be anything but damage limitation and then go for it v Mayo?

I think it will definitely be a bit of park the bus. But if we are going to play on the counter there will need to be a change or two made to the front 6.

Recent hamstring injury and they are at least 2 to 3 weeks recovery time. After an injury lay off he was rusty against Mayo but since then was back in good form in challenges so a blow to the player and team.

On Ronan Daly he was working his way back from injury and didn't feature in the challenges so no surprise he's not part of the 26. Conor Hand and Adam McDermott featured prominently in challenges one or both could be line to make their championship debut on tomorrow.

I'd be giving McDermott a chance.. he was serious pace and it's definitely something this team is lacking

We don't even need to go for it against Mayo. Beat Cavan and we will be in same position as if we beat both them and Mayo. Maybe a handier draw but who knows. All comes down to Cavan its knock out football from that game

For Roscommon if 3rd in the group away in the Prem Quarter final to the following

Derry or Armagh
Tyrone or Donegal
Louth or Monaghan

If 2nd in the group and will have a home match.

Armagh or Derry
Cork,
Louth or Monaghan

Home advantage of you finish second. That's what killed us last year

Minors doing OK but probably haven't scored enough for all their possession. Mayo not up the Roscommon end as much but get their scores a bit easier. Hope we don't regret that. We seem to be getting bottled up a lot on the terrace wing. Some lovely kick passing at times. Best of luck for the second half.

Hard luck to the U17 footballers, can't fault the effort in a competitive Connacht final.

To pull off upset we first needed to be leading at half time and IMO we were the better team by about 2 or 3 points in that 1st half. Secondly we needed goal or two and we created three big chances with none taken.

We gifted four points to Mayo from unforced errors and last ten minutes of the contest we played with 14 men with that black card that all added up in a four point loss.

Hopefully the lads can give a decent account of themselves against Kerry next, more than enough talent there to do so.

Home advantage.? We have a terrible record in the championship in Hyde Park. We haven't beaten Galway there for 34 years and we haven't beaten Mayo there for 23 years.

Good analysis analyser. It's disappointing because I feel Roscommon are good enough to have won last night. They played some lovely running football at times but silly unforced errors gifted Mayo scores and the momentum in the second half. We got the goals in Tuam against Galway but none last night. This team is capable of getting goals. They're young lads and I'm not going to name players but there's clearly one area of the team that needs change for the Kerry game. Kerry looked good in Munster and Roscommon are up against it now. For a much vaunted minor team, I thought Mayo looked ordinary enough last night. A more composed Roscommon would have sent Mayo home empty handed. A Connacht minor title left behind by Roscommon last night unfortunately.

I'd rather be playing in the Hyde than down in cork or up north somewhere so finishing second is very important

Don't be talking about home advantage!!!!
We'll have to play in Tuam or Castlebar from now on.
Brave effort last night but 2nd half errors and not taking 2 goal chances didn't help.
Hope they can pick themselves up and give it a right lash against Kerry .
