Aside from the throw-in, which he didn't really contest, a ball was played into him where he was out in front, but he was bullied off it by Charlie Drumm. He did get a hand on the kickout which led to Shane's goal, but the game was generally passing him by. McGrath did well when he replaced him. On the throw-in, in fairness Connellan has a serious jump and a technique which bumps off the opposition player, Aussie Rules style. He did the same to Tierney for the throw-in at the start of the second-half. I'd prefer to see D'Arcy contesting the throw-ins."
I agree! but as for other posters saying that Moycullen people thought he should be on first 15 doesn't tally with many of limited number of Moycullen people whom I talk to, many of them feel he is in the wrong code as he is a Fitzgibbon winner with UL also played previously with NUIG I don't recall seeing him on a Sigerson football team even though the late Don Connellan was involved in the NUIG management.Maybe its just the people I meet.My hope is any player who gets a chance does himself justice .

Two All Irelands and two league titles and a decent return on Ulster titles since 1992 is very good going for us. I think only Tyrone, Dublin and Kerry have been better in that time."
We also have 2 all Irelands, 1 div 2 league title, and 10 connachts since 1992 so don't think ye can claim to be better than us?

Connellan lucky to get away with that technique for the 2nd half throw in, I thought it was a foul.
It was odd to start McDonagh, don't think he's been seen since the Roscommon games so he's been out for nearly 4 months. Assume he's been injured and Joyce rates him really highly. I like him but given Conroy, Maher, D'Arcy & Tierney all started as did McDaid then its not as if we're short on height. I though McGrath looked sharp when he came on and improved the balance of the team.
