So you think Galway are a one man band and without Shane the other players aren't good enough to beat Roscommon! Wow!

well if walsh is injured its a loss but as long as its not a serious injury maybe the break might
do him some good as last week he looked very disinterested as did so many others.,im not just
pointing the finger at one player..
with all these injuries lets see what these galway lads are mad of when there backs are against the
wall so too speak..
in my eyes nearly all teams are as good as each other and can beat anyone on there day and
we are one of those teams so lets all be a bit more optimistic and remember its February 2nd.

Replying To NoughtiesFootball:  "What division 2 counties would most of those lads not get on?
Mayo have Conroy and O'Donoghue who are decent. But not of the quality of Walsh or Comer on their day. Rob Finnerty I would have on the same level of Conroy and O'Donoghue.

Derry have one consistent scoring forward - Shane McGuigan. Ethan Doherty is a very good half forward but not exactly a proper assassin top quality scorer.
Darragh Canavan is coming good for Tyrone, granted - so him and McCurry. McCurry was their most consistent forward in 2021 when they won Sam though. Ruari is unproven although showing signs.

Jack McCarron never plays well in championship matches against top counties. A very good league forward and excellent against the likes of Carlow or Wexford, but not Dublin or Galway in the championship.

Those lads from Galway I have named would get much more game time in Roscommon than they do in Galway, if not be regular starters - to reply to another poster who compared them to Roscommon's forward line."
Galway have so many good forwards we play our backs in the forwards to give everyone else a chance.

Replying To smallfrank:  "So we're all ill informed and they are just overtrained.
Is Johnny McGrath not overtrained, he was good on Sunday, Paul Conroy when he came on. That type of performance has happened before, Mayo in Tuam 2020 and Kerry away. Was that down to over training. The hockeying in the FBD final was explained away as keeping the main players and focusing on the league. Conor Gleeson kicking the ball down the middle 9 times and we win it once, is that down to overtraining. Everybody wants to see the team doing well, if we highlight things we don't like after an 8 point defeat to our biggest rivals and who knocked us out of the championship last summer and beat us in a final in Croke Park last year, that doesn't make us ill informed."
Fully agree with all of the above.

1 player who would solve the goal keeping problem is Ronan boland from Mícheál Breathnach. Can drive the ball 50/60 into ur hands. Comfortable under high ball and a great shot stopper. Don't know why he was let go few years ago?

Still a few lads out of position on that team. Has Molloy ever played wing forward even at club? Mulkerrin is not a wing back, either give him a go in his proper position or leave him off. Nice to see McHugh back at wing back and it will leave Daly less exposed.
Midfield is decent and full forward line looks exciting. Better balance than last week at least. Looking forward to seeing how we go

The problem is that they are not willing to give the two other goalkeepers they already have a chance at all.Its bizarre.

Just wondering what is rule when 26 are named?I thought that you can't change it unless someone of 26 gets injured but could be totally wrong. What is rule?

Indeed. I think it's clear at this stage that Gleeson will be in goal barring injury. Can't fathom the Conor Flaherty thing, he's sitting amongst the subs in his civvies and fit to play during the week.

When they didn't give him the sub goalkeeper 2 years ago for AI semi final when he had played most of league and was back from injury.Seems like Conor Gleeson will be in goals until new management at the very least.

Yes that is very worrying. The team selected appears to be unbalanced with a number of players just back from injury or out of form. Hope I'm wrong but it looks like 2 points in the bag for Roscommon.

I believe that you can bring someone in on match day for the league. In the championship you cannot do so but again I think there are exceptions for the championship.

Molloy and Mulkerrin potentially out of position but apart from that it's ok.

Lads back from injury need games. Could cost us the 2 pints but long term it is better to play them.

I like the ff line. More balanced than last week and I think that was an issue. We had no one inside for a quick counter attack.
