Moycullen 2-11 Killimor 1-12
Karma is a terrible thing!! Killimor who ambushed Meelick-Eyrecourt in the Semi Final with a goal in the 7thmin of added time 67min got the same treatment today ...Moycullen goal in the 7thmin of added time 67mins to smash and grab while trailing 1-11 v 1-12!!!
Hard Luck Killimor.

I ain't anti-Galway by any means; the Connolly's, Keady, Hayes, Lane, and Joe Cooney were as fine as any county ever produced. I loved those guys, and the way they hurled and carried themselves.
It's just that I don't particularly like idle talk. And there's been quite a bit of it over the past four years about/within Galway hurling.
Match up, or shut up, Tommeen!"
My name is Tommy K so call me by my full name "young"! I have never "mouthed" and had "idle talk" (whatever that means!) about Galway hurlers in any way and Galway people are the worst critics of the team in general if you'd care to look carefully at the various fora but I suppose a good soundbite is what you're really good at. You didn't even know that Ollie Canning worked for Sky and not RTE when you disparagingly (and as usual incorrectly) stated Joe would be joining him in RTE as you said that "RTE loves Joe". Get your facts right before you come on here spouting your rubbish.

Terrible way to end the Minor A final yesterday, sudden death penalties. This should have gone to a replay, there was no rush as there is no All Ireland series. Ironically if the adult Intermediate final was drawn it would have gone to a replay & they have an All Ireland series to play.
Putting such pressure (sudden death) on 16 & 17 year olds is wrong, is there nobody in charge of well being & welfare of Juveniles in Galway GAA, an embarrassment really in terms of player welfare, but no surprise given some of the incidents that have gone on over the years in Galway.

The biggest joke was that after 5 penalties it went to sudden death but you could start with your number one penalty taker again.Surely it should have gone through the 15 that finished the match then back to number one.

Would ya stop,, well being and welfare,, I suppose if an underage free taker misses a last minute free avd his team lose the game as a result it should be declared a draw too? Or how about we get rid of scoreboards altogether and just let them have a nice little kick about? And do away with substitutions and let every kid play,, because leaving kids on the bench is bad for their self esteem ya know...
If you don't want kids experiencing pressure and disappointment my advice for you is to give them a phone and a nice quiet room and let them binge away on youtube influencers.

Another terribly one-sided hurling semi final. Gort will probably blame covid but we all know even if there never was an issue around that they were going to get a pasting today. They looked intermediate standard and yet reached the semi final which is a bad sign. Thomas's looked good but tney are not as good as Gort made them appear to be. Thomas's and Clarinbridge are so far ahead of the rest. It will be a good final between them and a hard game to call though Thomas's will be favourites.

Yes, not good. An intermediate level team, making the semi-finals. And 4 B-level teams made the quarter-finals. Bar 2-3 top teams, the standard of hurling seems to have really dropped in Galway.

Once great clubs like Portumna, Sarsfields, Athenry, Kiltormer, etc no longer seem to be able to produce quality level teams. Quite sad!

Good man, you obviously don't understand. It's one thing missing a free in the last minute but it's another different type of pressure after 60 mins, extra time, penalties & then down to a 16/17 year old at sudden death with a couple of thousand people watching him, it can & has had an awful affect on young juveniles. Nobody said to wrap them up in cotton wool like your saying, but putting pressure like that on juveniles/kids is totally wrong & can damage their mental health. Obviously your one of the "hard men" that are in every club, I sincerely hope your no where near coaching juvenile teams. By the way, leaving kids on a bench is bad for their esteem, see the research on it & why the GAA tried to change their coaching modules around it. Best of luck to you, get a few likes for your post & feel good about yourself & flex your muscles, I couldn't be arsed debating with you.

"to a 16/17 year old at sudden death with a couple of thousand people watching him, it can & has had an awful affect on young juveniles." If they feel like that, then maybe they should not be playing competitive sports.

"but putting pressure like that on juveniles/kids is totally wrong & can damage their mental health"

Pressure? Mental health playing sport? Give it a rest. A lot of their grandparents or great grandparents could tell them what 'pressure' really meant; and it had nothing to do with playing games in your spare time.

Michael Parkinson (a British TV show host) asked Keith Miller, one of the greatest Australian cricketers, who was also a fighter pilot during the Second World War.

"About the pressure of Test cricket?"

Miller replied "Pressure? There is no pressure in Test cricket. Real pressure is when you are flying a Mosquito with a Messerschmitt up your arse."

Sort of leadership that was needed on Saturday. Antrim chairman interrupts penalty shoutout and sends it to a replay as 'unfair' to decide a winner in sudden death.

What's your point? Adults suffer from mental health problems too don't they? Often times worse than kids... Whatever nonsense you're spouting about those poor kids who have to suffer the horrible pressure of taking a penalty in a local club game should apply to adults too.

So it's a time issue then? Mental health only kicks in after 60 minutes and extra time. OK,,,

You're probably right. St Thomas's deserve to be favorites. Clarenbridge are probably a year or two away from winning the County. I hope it's a thriller.
