Good on them, a grand sporting gesture from a great club.
BTW I thought virtuall everyone in Ireland had at least one of those (non Vaccine) injections.
So how come hurlers are getting Chinese Wuflu if these injections are any use?

Fair play and a big Thank You to St Thomas's for giving Gort a pardon and getting things rolling. Problem solved with maturity.

Gort are 4/1 in bookies. Some odds in a two horse race!

the problem is with the current level of C19 around it is hard to imagine any squad being completely Covid free for the next 6-8 weeks. Could be Thomas's next week or some other people in the Gort squad. very hard situation to manage all round.

It's a three horse race. Gort, St Thomas and Draw.

He's referring to their odds for the semi final itself, I'm assuming.
Hard to see past Thomas' in this one but Gort will be looking pull a 'Tyrone'.

Yes very much so, especially when clubs can issue statements that pull at the heartstrings and make their situation seem worse than it is. All credit to Thomas's for doing what they didnt need to do as quite rightly they would have been awarded the game and hopefully now they'll send Gort packing on Sunday

correct, and as i said, 4/1 is some odds in a game that one team will look to turn into a dog fight!

I know what he's referring to.

The 4/1 odds are based on 60 minutes play, not the outright winner.

So, the result will be Gort, St Thomas or a draw; a 'three horse' race.

Of course that makes sense given that Galway senior clubs only won 13 senior AI's in total including 12 between 1992 and 2014!

2013/14 was a long, long time ago now. Is Portumna still even senior in Galway? So much has changed. The game has moved on to such a higher level.

The standard in Galway seems to not have moved on at all. In fact, it seems to have gone done a lot. It seems that there's not much to differentiate Senior 'A' from Senior 'B' these days. Galway club hurling comes across as being all very mediocre at present.

If your such an "expert" on Galway hurling you would have known that Portumna were still senior but then I think you're only pretending to be an "expert" - can't even spell "down" properly!

It is rather ironic, from a man who uses "your" when it should be "you're", to pedantically comment on a simple typo between "down" and "done". But that seems to be symptomatic of the younger generations.

Btw, I've never claimed to be an expert anywhere. But if you believe that I am, then thank you very much, Tommeen!

Touché foreveryoung - I'll grant you that one typo but no more! So I'm glad "you're" admitting that you are no expert at Galway hurling but for a man that admits you're not an expert you sure make broad sweeping general statements like the following "The standard in Galway seems to not have moved on at all. Galway club hurling comes across as being all very mediocre at present." You have been making these "expert like" general statements re Galway hurling (none of which are positive as you are well aware) in most of your posts if you look back on them.

Very true. But I'm glad St Thomas's handled it with such class. I wish them all the success in the world.

Is it anything other than a St Thomas victory this weekend?

As soon as Galway starts putting its muscle where it's mouth is, then perhaps my comments could become a bit more positive.
I ain't anti-Galway by any means; the Connolly's, Keady, Hayes, Lane, and Joe Cooney were as fine as any county ever produced. I loved those guys, and the way they hurled and carried themselves.
It's just that I don't particularly like idle talk. And there's been quite a bit of it over the past four years about/within Galway hurling.
Match up, or shut up, Tommeen!

Unfortunately not and it looks like my prediction from the start of a St.Thomas' v Clarinbridge Final will happen.

In fairness, I haven't heard any idle talk from players or managers in recent years, so I'm not sure what you're referring to there. If it's supporters, there are plenty of those in every county.
Most believe this group should have won more than 1 All-Ireland and I'm sure the players think the same. In saying that, they gave us a brilliant year in 2017 and a day I'll never forget.
Not to mention an almost endless list of highlights from one of the greatest hurlers to ever do it.
Plenty hard work ahead in Galway to get back to competing at the top.
