Intensity - Tyrone are supremely conditioned and physical. Possibly the only team along with Mayo that can match Dublin in this regard. They will need to absolutely tear into Dublin with rabid intensity from the beginning. No half-hearted blocking or abdicating responsibility. Every single man, starter and sub coming in must bring it. 2. Efficiency - shot conversion rate must be really high. Additionally, I would take free taking responsibility away from McAliskey. He's a good lad but misses too many. Against Dublin Tyrone must make every chance count. 3. Goals - Tyrone will probably need between 20 and 25 points to beat Dublin. They will not raise this many white flags so goals will be needed. Absolutely clinical finishing will be required. If the option is there to handpass to a team mate to walk it/palm it into the net then it simply must be taken. This is the critical factor for me in any potential Tyrone victory. As good as Dublin have been at winning tight finals against Mayo recently, they haven't found themselves in a position where they've been shocked by a sudden concession of two quickfire goals to put them 6 or 7 points down for example. Not since 2014 against us anyway. I think it would be very interesting to see how they'd react to a 6 point deficit against a Tyrone team defending their lead as though their lives depended on it. Now obviously a lot of things would have to happen in Tyrone's favour for the above to unfold but I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility either. Dublin are fantastic champions playing the game at an almost autonomous level now but teams have got to believe they can topple them. If it's one thing that Tyrone boys don't lack is confidence so as much as it pains me to say it as a proud Donegal man - I really hope they can do themselves justice and give us a final befitting the occasion." Perhaps an obvious thing I should have added was that it's of paramount importance to keep Dublin at bay at the other end also. The main tenet of my argument is that I cannot see Tyrone raising enough white flags to make the 20 -25 points needed to beat Dublin, therefore they'll need goals to achieve this. I think the final will be a lot closer fought than last year's semi final. But there is an inevitability about the whole thing. Dublin have a far more assured keeper and far more assured forwards. It would take a lighting performance from Tyrone and a real off day for Dublin like the first final against mayo two years ago but I just can't see that happening. The super 8s will enhance a team like Dublin's chances of coming out on top in the final and I expect that to happen without much fuss. Not sure about that, Dublin usually keep their most contained performance for the Final. I can think of a few low scoring finals this team have been involved in. In the finals Dublin have appeared in this decade, they have scored 6-7 points less than their average to get to the final. If that trend holds true, then they will be scoring in the region of 18-19 points in the final and I think Tryone's defense would be better than Mayos's and Kerry's defense in the finals Dublin won. Tyrone have averaged 21 points a game to reach the final this year and apart from Carlow have played all Div 1 and 2 teams - if they improve their shooting accuracy coming into the final, they will give it a good rattle. Add in the pressure of going for 4 in-a-row and the underdog tag will suit Tyrone coming into this final.
