But we have three weeks to enjoy the build up, get a bit of bunting up and enjoy the occasion, 10 years has been a long time." Indeed it is, welcome back. At least you Tyrone will give it everything.

Replying To Damothedub: "care to answer Dublin's performance in recent years at under age ? If money brings success I'm dying to hear your expert analysis on underage lack of success, or do you read in here catch the sound bites you like and regurgitate them as your own. Money has won nothing basic skills superior coaching from Gavin a volunteer, you could show some respect and recognize it , or go for lazy cliche posts. The reason i probably prefer hurling at the moment is posters like you don't exist in that code , best team tends to win and get recognized for it , and don't have to listen to the crap you come out with some how trying to tarnish achievements" Have to agree...Dublin are not the only county with a big budget....what about the money Kerry get from the U.S. for example? Wouldn't think they or Mayo either are that far behind Dublin in terms of resources.
Money does help but it guarantees nothing.
Dublin also play hurling to a high level and therefore need resources too, that other top footballing counties don't have to factor in on their budgets. It's a very easy way for the rest of the counties to blame for their own internal failings.

Look Kerry are well looked after, and always have been. Kerry lads on here know that but they don't like to see us doing well, and that's good!

I'm following development squads for last six years , you get to see what other counties have or don't have regards resources etc you meet interesting people swap stories etc with one obvious exception Antrim , every team I've come across is operating at same level as Dublin gym programmes diet advice etc , meeting up similar amount of times so it finally comes down to talent

Listen guys like me have been screaming at Mickey Harte to implement the game plan which he deployed in the first half for years now. They had slightly tweaked it all year but we really should have been perfecting this from day one.
Now as i have said a thousand times before, we have the players capable of winning the All Ireland, I just feel that we have maybe left it a little but too late to start playing in this style. But it is definitely good to see our management team finally trust our players.
The truth is that we would need to play the same system against Dublin and have the game of our lives to expect a result.
But at even if we are beat, at least we are going in the right direction in terms of the style of footfall which we want to play. And who knows, maybe in a year or two playing this new attacking system we might actually land Sam again.
Anyway it should be a great occasion but unfortunately I have a conference in Miami and will not be able to attend.

To say that money hasn't contributed to Dublin's success is absolutely BS.
The money that goes into underage is what is able to create this talent.
These guys aren't just born brilliant footballers.
They have the potential to be brilliant footballers and Dublin is able now to get them playing GAA and get them developed to the level they are at.
No other county has the resources to compete with that over a sustained period.
If I had to bet the over/under on the next 50 All Ireland's I think I'd be quite happy to back Dublin at 30 of them.
They'll start to win Hurling All Ireland's within 10 years I'd say too.

I find it hard to see how it will be a good final. It will be survival early on for Tyrone. They will try to resist the early dublin charge. Tyrone will fall back into deep cover while Dublin dominate possession. 45mins in Tyrone will tire trying to stem the tide. Dub subs land and then open up the score. Dublin by at least 8.

Expected more of Tyrone today, they were very lucky to get out with a win. I hate saying this, but if Tyrone get within 5 points of Dublin, I'll be shocked

You will be sorely missed at the all Ireland. Even though you don't attend Tyrone matches as you have said before. You still want Micky Harte out? You were the main cheerleader for a while.

To a point, you're correct. As shown by Meath and Wicklow's victories at minor level over Dublin.
But as you get to senior level it's a completely different story. And the big advantage Dublin have is the ability to retain all their best players. Rural counties simply can't keep their players.
Look at my own county. . . In a 4 year period, we won 4 u21 ulster titles and a minor ulster title. All of the players who played on those teams are in their mid 20s now. And our local paper listed the players from those teams who are not willing to commit to intercounty football. It was eye watering!!
In the majority of cases, travel time from work to training was the issue. Some are abroad, but most are in Dublin.
Tom Parsons was interviewed on Off the Ball about 18months ago. He works with Jacob's in Dublin. He explained how he only takes work holidays for big championship games and that he cannot hold down a starting place during the league because he cannot give the same level of commitment all year round. He is one of a huge number of similar cases.
How many of the Dublin panel work or study outside of Dublin? When is the last time they had to do a 10 hour round trip for a championship game?
Deny it all you want, use every excuse and smokescreen you can think of. . .there is an imbalance there and it is ludicrous to deny it!

Fairly decent year for Dublin so far.
Beat the All Ireland finalists away from home in a big championship game on a purposely narrowed pitch in an obvious attempt to put Dublin at a disadvantage.
Dublin won NFL Div 1 with a transitional panel. Dublin won a record number of Leinster titles. Dublin now own the longest unbeaten run in GAA Championship history across both codes. Dublin have reached 4 All Ireland finals in a row and remain unbeaten. Dublin now have a chance of equalling the current record of 4 in a row All Ireland titles - a feat thought almost impossible in the modern era. It wasn't long ago that back to backs were so hard to achieve.
If they do so they will have another treble winning season under Gavin.
That may be close to equalling or setting another record? Not sure the total of treble winning seasons under the one manager.
This could end up being Dublin GAA's greatest year of all time.
BUT...
It'll mean NOTHING if Tyrone knock them on their fecking arse!
I was only placing my tongue firmly in cheek with my earlier post..
Huge congrats to Tyrone and you'll have every ounce of respect that you deserve. Because if you click you have already proven that you can get close to and very much compete with this Dublin side. That fact carries a lot of weight and as such you're a dangerous side that could derail Dublin's entire season.
It's a huge game ahead. I can't wait.

Living in rural Ireland is a disadvantage for many socio-economic reasons, Dublin is the centre of commerce and employment
It's nothing new that many 100''s of thousands of country people get attracted to Dublin and make a life/living here
But those reasons existed before 2011
It's always been an imbalance even in all the many years that Dublin lost but it wasn't important then for some reason. In fact it was used as a stick to beat Dublin with..

money isn't everything, in fact i'd put dublins success (obviously down to immense talent) and down to geography. all dublin players live and work in Dublin, obviously getting a suitable job isn't a problem with their recent success and profile. compare this to any other county basically. from what i heard majority of cavan lads are based in dublin and that can be said for a lot of other counties also. when you're from say Donegal or Mayo working in Dublin and faced with a 3 hour drive to training three nights a week and then have to be back for work the next morning after 6 hours sleep in some cases it'll take its toll. if anyone may correct me here but the two other most successful teams of the last 20 years kerry and Kilkenny gain a lot of employment from the two big companies based in their home counties thats Glanbia and Kerry Group, which quite simply means flexible hours working and a short run to get from work/home/training.
