Wexford’s Ben Brosnan is set to play his club football in neighbouring Wicklow this year.

According to local reports, the long-serving Wexford sharpshooter is seeking a transfer from Castletown Liam Mellows to Carnew Emmets which is just across the county bounds and where he currently lives. Brosnan previously transferred from his native Bannow-Ballymitty to Castletown in 2016.

The transfer applies to club only, which means the 36-year-old will continue to line out for Wexford who he has made 166 appearances for since making his debut in 2008.
