Kilkenny midfielder Conor Fogarty says nothing else but the Cats’ best performance will do in tomorrow’s All-Ireland senior hurling championship final.

The Leinster champions are bidding to end their county’s eight-year wait for the Liam MaCarthy Cup at Croke Park (throw-in 3.30pm), where their Munster counterparts are 2/5 favourites to make it four-in-a-row on hurling’s biggest stage.

"We're focused on winning an All-Ireland final for our group and our own county," Fogarty told BBC Sport NI this week.

"I don't think there's an added pressure, we're not concerned on trying to stop them.

"We are a very proud hurling county. It wouldn't matter who you're up against in an All-Ireland final, it's always going to be a tough task whether it's Limerick or whoever it is."

On tomorrow’s opposition he added: "I think Limerick have proven that they have been the best team over a number of years. It's a big challenge but it's one that we are looking forward to. [We must] perform to our best, anything else won't be good enough.

"Everybody wants to get to an All-Ireland final and it's no different for Kilkenny. This is where you want to be. We're challenging ourselves against the best now."
