See Kildare are in talks with Mickey Harte now. Lets hope the CB dont mull on whatever decision is going to come. would be just typical they leave it until all other counties get their men first!!!
We really need to go outside the county this time and stop picking managers that are stuck in the "Meath way".

You do realise that it's the outside managers and their ways ( and financial demands ) that have the game ruined…. And you do realise that outside managers never win anything tangible…. Nothing wrong with the Meath way you know…!

Yeah the current Meath way is working wonders at the moment!!
But fair enough ... I would take a Meath man at the helm ok as there does seem to be that tradition of outside managers not winning anything but we are so far away from that stage we just need some top class management/coaching team to get us to out of this rut we are going through and at least get us to the next level (competing for Div 1 status and being hard to beat).

Their financial demands ?? Did you not see the Officials figures that the current management team are getting in expenses ? Not exactly peanuts. I've no issue with them getting expenses by the way but I wouldn't be waffling about outside management's financial demands after looking at what the current management are getting.

Was Bantys 2 years in charge any worse than the debacle of the last 2 years. It's a rhetorical question...... no they weren't.

Banty took over the Leinster champions with an experienced talented squad that also had played in two All-Ireland semis. We have never had such a low base to come from lady few years.

I would probably take Banty now over the current management team , actually I would take Mick O'Dowd and Andy Mac over the current management team any day of the week.

I can see Pros and Cons with Banty , Mod and Andy Mac , they have more pros than cons ! The current management team just has way to many cons , I actually don't see any pros , and that's is by no means being disrespectful it's just from what I seem from the last two years .

NOBODY can be happy with the current position of no progress. The ball is firmly at the feet of the CB .Colm says he wants to continue. He should be told no you cant continue as is. .You will only continue if you do as you said you would do i.e. bring in help when needed at the required level to fill the need. Think about that and come back to us. We dont want to impose a person .Its your responsibility to get the help to work as a team. You have agreed you have been given every assistance so far when you asked.Over to you.for 1 week.

Great logic that is sure there's no need to get anyone new in let's just keep getting worse and worse

Current management have made Mick O'Dowd look like a cross between Mick O'Dwyer and Jim Galvin! They simply can't be allowed to continue, can they???

Reading between the lines in O'Rourke's latest Sunday Independent column today, he refers to 'us in inter County management' a number of times during the piece. It has been so long now since the Championship ended looks more than likely that the current set up will remain.

For the record, O'Dowd had Meath playing the most exciting football I've seen Meath play since the swagger of Murphy and Geraghty. They were at times breathtaking under him and at least he had clear ideas of what he was trying to do. He discarded experienced players too quickly though and was also unlucky. Not slagging him off in my above statement.

No I agree with you also Crinigan , MOD had something up stairs , when he left Meath I did say I hope he gets more experience under his belt and hopefully comes back stronger , I admire Andy Mac also for keeping his tools sharp and getting more manger experience under his belt with Antrim.

I always see something good in past mangers and players , again not being disrespectful to the current Meath management but I just see absolutely nothing from them , like I hope they take a look at themselves and ask the question what is best for Meath football , a good honest conversation and leave the ego at the door .

Colm could do the job if he can accept that as manager he is the co ordinator primarily. The coaches need to be strong willed but good at their job. Therefore, who can be got to do the jobs who will challenge and be challenged.?.That gap is there to be filled and is not negotiable. If Colm is not willing try to improve on this area then bye bye and thanks Colm.I say that as one of the first on here to support his appointment but Meath football to day is bigger than any one person. Everyone needs to keep up with developments in any walk of life to be successfull. I do believe the role of manager is hyped up far too much anyway. I heard Colm say at the start that he would have strong men around him .No one man can do it himself so its all about people skills .Take that skill away and what is left? Waffle and spoof !

For the record, you forgot to mention Dublin defeated Meath by an aggregate of 34 pts over Three matches under MOD plus not to mention Westmeath outscored Meath 2-8 to a pt in last 20 mins for the other Leinster defeat of his tenure in his other year in charge.
Somehow also managed to finish the careers of Cian Ward, Joe Sheridan, Caoimhin King, Chris O'Connor, Peader Byrne, Brian Farrell & Jamie Queeney in pretty much one swipe with nearly all these guys in mid to late 20s and Leinster medals in their back pockets. I think there were more I'm forgetting.
I can't recall much swagger in those years!

Mid to late 20's ?? Stretching it a bit there…most of those guys were pretty much finished at inter county. MOD was left with a rebuilding job from the start.

Cian Ward & Jamie Queeney definitely dropped to soon. They were two of the standout senior club players in meath during Mickos tenure.

The only players mentioned above who shouldn't have been discarded with at the time were Cian Ward and Joe Sheridan at a push. The rest were past it for inter County football at the time.
