Most of these guys had plenty more to offer with not many ready made replacements.

Dublin had Diarmaid Connolly, the Brogan brothers, Cian O'Sullivan etc not convinced if it would have made much more difference if Jamie Queeney or Peadar Byrne played a few years longer tbh.

Didn't see the piece myself but interesting to hear that. Wasn't the word on the street that his two year "review" would be completed prior to the start of the club championships this week? All gone very quiet which could also possibly suggest that things will remain as they are. Again, let's wait and see if there's a backroom team overhaul of some form but after witnessing some of the worst Meath performances of my lifetime this year, I'd be surprised and disappointed if there isn't change.

Kildare now have themselves a top manager, who ironically has been coaching Summerhill for the past two or three years. Still silence from Meath with the club championships starting this weekend. That probably doesn't matter to the Meath manager as he publicly stated during the year that the Meath Club championship is very poor.

I'm guessing the monthly county board meeting is next Monday and with no hurling manager in place and the senior football review touched on briefly at the last meeting, you would imagine we will hear something of some substance this time.
The fact that it has been so heavily leaked that the players survey's were very critical of the setup in 2024 puts pressure on all parties - management and the county board.
If the third year of Colm's tenure is recommended, then we have to hear on what basis and if there are new additions to come on board we need to know who, and not get the brush off that names will be revealed further down the road.
If a change is recommended then we need a timeline for a new man to be put in place.

It's good the players got the opportunity to have a voice and opinions , it was very critical about the 2024 set up , most mangers would respect the opinion of there players and probably take it on board as a red flag that things are not good enough , I would say most county managers if they got the same critical review from their players they would walk away , and I respect every manager that would do the same because it shows respect to the players and the county !

There is absolutely nothing wrong in walking away , the problem is thinking that you can make things better and end up making things worse and that's the greater possibility . I don't wish that on anyone because that one horrible lonely place when it happens .
