Think there's a need to change the structure of the championship. Ratoath lost their first 3 natch and still made it to the final. I'd like to see the westmeath model, top 3 go through and make the B group its own proper championship with winners going into junior leinster.

Another, would be to follow the wexford model of hurling first, then followed by football. Very tough to play every week , hurling then football back to hurling.

Or not!! I was replying to the comment, 'No idea what the red card was for' so I was giving the poster an idea of what did happen, admittedly I should have said what I heard, (was from players close enough to the incident), and I wasn't claiming it as an absolute fact!!

Saturdays game was a good game for intermediate hurling, Both team's had chances to win it, Sundays game wasn't great but the winners wont care about that, fancy Kildalkey in the replay,
any news if St Pats are promoted ?

Word is they're trying to put a second team out next year so they'll have one at intermediate and one at junior 2

They'd be hammered at intermediate unfortunately
Wouldn't be beneficial to see them go up

If that Ratoath team stick together they will win championships soon. Very young strong team and great manager in place.
If kildalkey win on Sunday, it will be the greatest club achievement ever in Meath GAA. Will be a very close game.

ratoath had the right manager and the right plan this year but they just didn't believe enough when the going got tough, will he stay on, they don't normally hang around up there

Bit of wild shout. Bigger than Kilmessan in 07? Bigger than Trim beating Kilkenny champs?
Intermediate realistically is junior and senior b is intermediate. I would go as far to say a club winning minor a is bigger. Still a great achievement but greatest ever? Please

Wouldn't be certain of that, they'd give the second teams a good rattle. I know they beat Ashbourne in a challenge game at one point as well but not sure you could read a lot into that

If rathoath had 15 men on the field they would have won.

Hammered? Don't think that's fair considering they're literally replacing a team that didn't field

They are replacing Kilmessan who I'm certain would beat them by 10+.
They have jumped from junior 2 to intermediate without having won a championship, I stand by my point hammered. Kells, Wolfe tones, ashbourne and Trim's 2nds, they wont stand a chance!

"IF" my aunty's had balls, it would be my uncle. Ratoath didn't have 15 men on the pitch and Kildalkey are Senior champions 2023. That's the only name on the jubilee this year. Get over it.

I think if Kildalkey win the Intermediate Championship, it will be very special. 3 adult teams reaching 8 finals. Kildalkey is a small rural club, with a population of 900. I don't think we can diminish their achievements so far. Division 1 Runners up. Division 3 Champions. Senior Champions. Intermediate Finalists. Junior Champions. Brendan Davis, Billy Byrne and Donal OLoinsaigh Finalists. Leinster in front of them. Not too bad.

Look absolutely brilliant from them but you are forgetting the fact they also have the pull of lads from ballivor. The 3 cup competitions are useless the way they are ran, if they win Leinster then yes I will eat my words but until then, can we please talk sense

I think you don't really understand how it actually works with kildalkey/killyon players from Ballivor. I'd say in the last 20 years there hasn't been more than 5 players from ballivor that played with kildalkey and most or all of them have family ties in kildalkey.

Kildalkey, as expected, sweep up in the replay. SHC/IHC/JHC treble completed.

A remarkable achievement, even if you count in the Ballivor lads and the fellas who have transferred from likes of Killyon and Athboy in last few years, it's still a small population in comparison to some of the teams they've given beatings to.

On the flip side, you now have two of the three Meath sides in Leinster who didn't win their championship. Will be interesting to see how NOM recover for a fresh Leixlip side next Saturday
