One of Trim Kildalkey Kiltale.

When was the last time either the Championship, League or Davis Cup didn't go to one of those 3 teams? I remember Kilmessan won a league a few years ago.

Blackhall Gaels doomed for intermediate with a handful of retirements plus whitty gone to Oz.
I can see Dunderry and Dunboyne to qualify.

Was there a misprint with them - Athboy, as the team is called Clann naGael. Were they taken down to fix?

Senior Hurling Championship
Few clubs missing players this year could change the championship a little.
My predictions are.
Round 1
Trim V Kiltale, Trim to get over the line here.
Ratoath V Killyon, lots of players reportedly gone from Ratoath, if so, I fancy Killyon here.
Kildalkey V Na Fianna, Kildalkey to get off to a winning start.

Will 1st round of championship now commence given that some clubs have players involved with the county footballers.

Doubt this will hold it up and would have already been a factor in fixtures. Anyone playing football has not played with their club this year. Would be very unfair to hold up a championship for a few players. The more hurling that can be played now the less impact on football and dual clubs.

On a predictions note, Trim to win beating Kildalkey in final, they are just ahead of everyone at the minute. Semis/quarters Kiltale/Na Fianna/Ratoath any 2 of those 3 but top 2 are a stretch ahead of that pack. Killyon to drop to B but if Kiltale or Na Fianna aren't firing they could see themselves down.

In Group B is tighter. Clann Na Gael, Kilmessan and Dunboyne all look strong and could give one of the weaker A teams a rattle but it has proven to be a step too far when you come out of that group to overcome a team who has played a higher quality.

To that point then, I think it should revert back to two groups of 6 and get rid of A and B, the 3 teams I mentioned would benefit more from playing the better teams even if it does lead to some hidings (argument then to relegate 2 teams each year over 2 years to bring down to 8 with no promotion from intermediate (pointless anyway at the minute as they inevitably get relegated again).

Trim V Kiltale, always a tight game here. Would it expect it to be close again - draw
Ratoath V Killyon. Fancy Killyon to get a result here
Kildalkey V Na Fianna, Potential to be tight but can see Kildakey coming out by 5

Anyone else feel group A is a disaster with regard to lack of jeopardy? A team can lose 3 matches and still be in the championship, thats crazy stuff. A few weeks of shadow boxing before anyone takes it serious. At least group B is cut throat, lose two games your gone. when big teams come against each other in group A who will really want to win? they be afraid of giving away anything. time to go 3 groups of 4. best 2 top teams into semi finals and third best top team and 3rd best 2nd team into one quater final and first and second best 2nd team into other quater final. worst 2 bottom teams into relegation play off.
