Replying To Foley91:  "Why would he stay now that his own executive don't want him.
I hope they have discussed an alternative before they shot themselves in the foot."
Unbelievable, so back to square one now.

Replying To Barney12345:  "To be honest I am embarrassed to be from Meath after this episode. The way the county board have treated Andy in this matter is nothing short of a disgrace. To have a man that has put so much time and effort into Meath football, be preparing for next season for the last 3 months and then to find out this magical County Committee has voted that they don't think he is the man to lead us in October after getting knocked out in July. The mind boggles.

I hope Andy puts himself forward for the clubs to vote as I believe most would have sense and see that he deserves another year. I can only imagine what alternative this committee have in mind. I can probably see why Andy won't go for the job but I believe he has the backing of the majority of true Meath football people.

If we do get a manager when will he be appointed? November at the very earliest I think, possibly even December when club championships will be over and most other county teams having finalised O'Byrne Cup squads and training."
Well said. I really can't add anything Ito this post.
I'm embarrassed to say I'm from Meath today.

Storm in a teacup, the Clubs will vote Andy in. Just a tactic from the committee to see what the level of support is behind Andy. This wont be a close vote.

Replying To thelutch:  "5 Years - Brought a bit of stability to the team, sorted us out and organised the whole setup a bit better however he is back where he started in my opinion, not his fault, as I keep saying we are simply not good enough to compete with the bigger teams.

We are a borderline top 10 team and that's okay. Will not slate any man who puts on the jersey for Meath.

Best of luck to Andy Mac if he is going."
That's fair comment

The only thing that annoys me in this is the timing, but surely they have a shortlist of alternatives to speak too. It's late in the day now to look for a new man. But look, people talking about the second half against Dublin. What about the first half? What about the Kildare game? Progress has been limited in my eyes. Many players have walked away, and more going. If one selector left you'd say fair enough, but then Curtis goes too. Something doesn't smell right. McEntee have got on the wrong side of a lot of people within the county. I respect him for taking the job and devoting so much time, but his attitude and interviews after games is appalling. I don't think we have anyone in the county ready to step up and take the job. It's too early for McCarty or O'Bric. I think it has to go external.

ur kidding....jez…..lets all agree that we don't rehash the Pro V Anti Andy merits ...and actually just stick with the outrage that is being correctly imo expressed here around the Process. So yet again...most candidates who may have been attracted , would take one look at how Andy was treated and say .." thats grand, Meath haven't changed...its not for me thanks"...….and by teh way....its usually exactly in such a turmoil that an Outside person comes in...why?...because they don't really care about the bigger picture...they are only concerned about their profile....

I understand county committee was not expecting the vote to go the way it did and have no short list which I suppose is hardly surprising

The clubs will 100% back McEntee for another year, they have previous for giving executive a black eye. At end of championship I was not sure what was the best way to go, slightly leaning towards giving Andy another year - tho the Kildare league game - the most important game of the year - was shocking - but if there was going to be a vote why did it not take place then. At this stage I definitely in favour of him staying, tho I think he may have to move on a few players. Either way the bigger problem is how the meath county board seem to conduct their business, tho I suppose we're not all lining up to do there job. Huge weekend of club football ahead and I'm sure the meath management will be be out in force at the games... Believing that they will get the green light on Tuesday night

The way he was treated? He got 5 years - we've regressed, a dismal league campaign with some poor performances. The executive think it's time to change - poor Andy. He has been treated fine and got plenty of time. Any good outside person would be interested because we have good underage teams that have achieved something and also Dublin are on the wane so Leinster is competitive again

If you're going to change management these days You would hope there was a plan or something resembling forward thinking by the board.

This is the most bone headed knee jerk decision I've seen since the 2010 debacle. Honestly this seems like nothing more than a few disgruntled heads angry about the U20s. Ever since then there have been a good few clueless ejits shouting "Andy Out" on social media with no idea of who'd replace him, maybe Bernard Flynn because…..??? No idea, or Colm O'Rourke who is Stone Age judging by his punditry.

Whether you like him or not Andy is passionate about Meath, that's why he gets a bit mad, And that's fine by me. He gives a damn. and he'll stick around and not **** off to Kerry or wherever like Jack O'Conner.

You won't even get that passion from O'Rourke or Flynn either. They've got a comfortable life in journalism and punditry. They'll put there hand in for a year or two with a large back room team to do the real work no doubt and if it doesn't go well they'll jump. Andy had a rough few years to begin with but stuck to it and it was starting to pay off. There have been a few wobbles recently but you can't ignore the effects the pandemic has had too.

I should have rephrased that , or clarified...Its not about how Andy treated ...its how one treats the Position...and bt default how we go about doing things. Any , there is no doubt in my mind there are alsorts of score settling and agendas n how this was handled …...so again, any decent person , would run a mile form this type of organisation ….but you are right....we will attract a fair share of guys who want to improve their own CV on the back of the Minor success
depends on what you want
